CRUSH AT FIRST SIGHT {2}

Kim Mingyu x reader

[ Day 2]

Yesterday was pretty fun honestly. I woke up and checked my phone and saw two missed calls from Gyu and some texts too. I opened them.

Mingyu : hey y/n why aren’t you picking up

Are you sleeping?

Are you coming today?

When are you coming?

Aaaaa why aren’t you waking up!!!!

I smiled seeing him whining I quickly texted him that I was going and started getting ready. I picked out a pretty dress for today. I usually don’t wear dresses but I don’t know why I wanted to get ready. It took me around 50 minutes to get ready and then I left. I grabbed my coffee as regular and reached my uni. To my surprise Mingyu was waiting in front of the gate. When he saw me he rushed to me with a big smile.

“Why are you so late I was waiting for you so long? And why don’t you answer your phone, I wanted to ask you actually to go and pick you up”, he stopped cause he was breathless after speaking so much without a break. I giggled how someone can be this cute.

He spoke again, “Did anyone said how pretty you are?”

His sudden compliment kind of made me choke on air. I was looking at him speechless.

“ Aigooooo you are cute when you are surprised”, he said and patted my hair. I blushed and looked down. He continued,” by the way let’s go everyone is waiting”.

“Yeah sure let’s go”, I said and started walking hastily. One more day and then he will be gone and my bright days will end too. I will once again get into those gloomy days. We reached others and they too complimented my dress and then we planned out how to enjoy the day. Since everyone has different choices we decided to split into 4 teams so we can all enjoy comfortably.

Cheol, Jeonghan and Jun decided to go and try different games.

DK, Dino, Woozi and Hoshi decided to go watch those dance performances and other cultural events.

Wonwoo and Vernon decided to visit the video game parlour.

Seungkwan, Minghao , me and Mingyu decided on trying out different food and attend the literary fest.

So everyone went their own way and we went ours. The first place we went to was a great sushi stall and we enjoyed there a lot. We started roaming randomly and teased each other a lot. And then we all ganged up and teased Mingyu. It was literally my best day. Like yesterday Mingyu didn’t left me for a moment.

When we were sitting at a pizza place some guys kind of were staring at me so Mingyu got off and moved his chair so they can’t see. I wish all guys were like him. I tried to not think like that or else I would get hurt. Our pizza arrived and we started to eat. And suddenly Minghao spoke up, “Well kwan have you noticed anything?”

Seungkwan was surprised and replied, “ what hyung?”

Minghao smirked and we all looked at each other when he spoke again, “That Mingyu is being a little more active these days and he woke up today without even calling him and got ready first”. He looked at Mingyu who for no reason started stuffing his mouth and avoided Minghao.

Seungkwan replied, “ yeah I too am noticing him he is even smiling to himself and is humming all day-“ . He was stopped when mingyu pushed a pizza slice in his mouth and spoke” Yah why are you lying like this”, he turned to me and said,” y/n don’t listen to them they are speaking gibbereish”.

“ yeah yeah y/n don’t listen to us only listen to him”, Minghao teased and continued eating.

I looked at Mingyu who was pretty flustered and avoided my eyes. I too ignored them and continued eating. I don’t want to involve myself much or else it might turn worse for me.

They keep teasing Mingyu about being in love and thinking about some girl. All I did was eating and smiling from time to time.

After we completed we decided to return. Seungkwan was still teasing Mingyu so they were kind of walking a bit ahead and I and Minghao were walking behind them.

Minghao spoke,” y/n can I ask you something?”.

I was a bit shocked like what he wants to ask and then I nodded.

“Do you like anyone?”, he said looking at me.

What was this question,” umm depends why you are asking”, I replied.

“Nothing I am just kind of curious”, he said.

“Yep and nope”, I said.

“What “, he asked confused.

“Yes I like someone but it doesn’t matter”, I said looking down.

“Why doesn’t it matter”, he asked again.

What’s with him? Why is he curious about my love life? I spoke again,” Because nothing’s gonna happen between us”.

“How can you say this without even talking to him, maybe he likes you too”, he said it matter of factly.

“Umm I am not that brave and I am kind of sure too and also I don’t want him to bring into the darkness I am in”, I smiled.

“Maybe he will take you out of the darkness”, he said and patted my back. And then we were kind of interrupted by Hoshi. Who literally jumped on Minghao and spoke,” umm hmm what’s going on between you two”. He teased and then rushed to the others and then started telling others that I and Minghao are dating.

Everyone started to tease us and when we deny no one trust us.

Jun said,” I knew this they were together since yesterday, talking and smiling”.

Jeonghan came to me and said,” Aaaaaa y/n I thought you would choose me”. He pouted and I replied, “It’s nothing like that and we are not dating”.

Dino interrupted again,” Liar, I know I saw you today too you both were walking behind so you could spend time together”.

Minghao spoke up again, “Guys you are misunderstanding we are not dating. I swear”.

Everyone still didn’t listen to us and kept teasing. And my eyes started searching for Mingyu who was not there. It was kind of weird because he never left me alone for a moment till now. Where is he?

I was searching when Cheol came to me and said, “Mingyu is there sitting in that bench, go” , he pointed me where Mingyu was seating.

“Thank you “, I spoke and left.

He was deep in thoughts when I reached, he didn’t even realized my presence until I spoke up.

“Mingyu , you alright?”, I asked putting a hand in his shoulder.

“Yeah yeah I am cool, what are you doing here?”, he spoke with a trembling voice. I felt worried as in what happened to this guy suddenly.

“Ah I searched for you but you weren’t there so Cheol said you were here,” I looked at him and he still wasn’t looking at me, “if you want I will leave-“.

“Are you and Hao dating?” his sudden question cut me mid-sentence.

“Of course not, we were talking about something and Hoshi misunderstood and there is nothing between us”, I assured him.

But he asked again suspiciously,” you sure?”

“Yeah I am dead sure we are not dating”, I confirmed him.

He sighed and then again spoke,” I want you to be honest with me though about something”.

I gulped what now. Why is everyone asking me so much today? “Yeah sure “, I managed.

“Do you like someone, I don’t need the name just say yes or no”, he asked.

Again the same question, what’s wrong with everyone today. I replied,” yes I do”.

He sighed again. Why is he sighing so much? I wanted to ask him too so I thought this would be the best opportunity. But before I can say anything he got up and spoke,” let’s go I will leave you at your room it’s getting late”.

“Umm yeah okay”, I said and started walking. It’s better to not ask. Only one more freaking day and this will end.

Most of the route we walked in silence. When we reached i decided to break this awkwardness between us, “okay then bye, goodnight Mingyu , see you tomorrow”, I managed my best smile.

He was fidgeting the ground so he looked up and asked,” does that guy know you like him?”.

“ No, and I am not going to tell him anyway cause he is leaving pretty soon and I might not see him again”, I said.

He finally looked up and his eyes met mine finally,” okay, goodnight y/n see you tomorrow”, he smiled and left.

I went to me room, changed and started surfing my phone and was looking at today’s picture. When two texts popped up. One was from Mingyu and the other one was from Minghao.

I opened Mingyu’s text first.

gyu : y/n don’t tell that guy you like him please.

What’s wrong with him? Why is he saying like this anyway I wasn’t even going to tell him. Thank god this guy is super dense and still hasn’t figured out.

I typed an okay and sent it.

Then I opened up Minghao’s text which was kind of weird.

Hao: y/n someone is planning a big surprise for you tomorrow so come tomorrow as soon as possible.

y/n : who ? And what surprise?

Hao : I won’t say who but I can say what if you will confirm something and be honest okay.

He is acting weird.

y/n : yeah okay I will be totally honest I cross my heart now say what?

Hao : you like Mingyu right?

WHAT ? how did he know. I haven’t said this to anyone does Hao knows to mind read. I have never been this surprised like now. I was having many conflicts in my head when I got another text from him.

Hao : ?????

y/n : how did you know?

Hao: its pretty obvious he is a fool that’s his problem anw as promised I will tell u now what is the surprise.

y/n : thank god he haven’t figured out yet and please don’t tell him at least not until tomorrow.

Hao : okay okay I won’t , don’t you wanna know the surprise ?

Damn I kind of forgot about that.

y/n : yeah please tell me

hao : a confession, and now don’t bug me I am sleeping and you too sleep. Gn!

Wait what a confession, who is doing this and why. I had many questions but Hao went offline and I guess he slept cause he wasn’t replying anymore. I was thinking all the possibilities that can happen and didn’t even realize when I dozed off.

A thread with the 1st slot report from azifxxx, Zepp Tokyo with Kyo and Shinya

F: Hello everyone at Zepp Tokyo! I'm DIR's manager Fujieda.

T: I'm manager Takabayashi.

F: today in Tokyo it's the last day (...) now I'd like to invite two band members to start the talk event! Give them applause!

Shinya arrives, then Kyo.

Kyo wore a black beret and big glasses, blackish grey jacket, some yellow badge on the left side? and grey denim. Shinya (Yamo-chan) wore all black, double jacket? it looked very soft. When entering the stage Kyo did 'Fujifuji pose' to F...

F: today Kyo and Shinya came to the event! How are you doing, the two of you?

S: I'm always fine. 24h a day. Just got bit foolish in Sendai due to snow...

K: yeah... I'm also good...

F: for both of you it's your second time, going straight to the point what's the most impactful/memorable thing in 2020 for you?

S: not COVID?

F: from the band's point of view it is.

S: it didn't feel like being in a band. There were no concerts at all.

F: for you, Kyo? (pretending to eat)

K: PS5.

S: I see.

K: I couldn't get it. That's all I can think about.

S: I want it too, but not that much... can you play Dead by Daylight on PS5? having ps4 edition?

K: you can.

S: then I want it. I also applied for it, but as I wasn't contacted I don't think I won.

F: there's nothing besides PS5?

K: the fan who said in the message they're getting it next day, they are probably playing right now.. I get angry again when I think about it. And not just a bit....(F: what would you do if after you got PS5?) Eh? I have to say it each time？💢 (makes dissatisfied sound and turns away, for a while stays silent)

F passes them the merch items.

S&K: ... (silently checking the items)

When prompted to say something

S: mini water bottle.. is for when you go out for a bit...

K: is that a pig?

S: it's a bear

But it has 3 fingers? The hoofs?

S: a bear isn't like that?

K: but only 3 fingers?!

K: you draw 3 or 4 fingers for a bear! A horse gets 2! is the claw here (between the fingers?)? the claws come out here (pointing back of the hand)?

S: there are no fingers there (in the back of the hand)

K: and it is listening standing in front of the speaker? Its ears will get bad! Listening to such loud sound in front of the speaker! you will go nuts!

F: so Kyo, you were praising the choker a lot in Osaka.

K: ... (looks at the choker) ...(starts to tie the choker)...(puts the choker in front of F)

F: it can be tied up? Is that a good point? Ah, you mean that it can be displayed like this? It's a very popular item so everyone please get one!

Today there are only two tables, on the right (kamite) sits Shinya with Takabayashi, on the left (shimote) Fujieda with Kyo

F: any no-no topics for the questions? (S says nothing) I hope it’ going to be interesting... what kind of outfit are you wearing today?

S: I’m wearing black... the hood is...(hesitates) like Penyu

K: (smiling😊)

S: I realized today that it’s like Penyu. Not because Kyo came today as well.

K: suddenly getting closer, feels bad

F: Kyo... today you’re also wearing a total outfit idea?

K: you think there’s a theme?

F: a bit... like in an older coffee shop.... cafe... like sitting in a coffee shop...

K: it’s monochrome checkers!

Ta chooses a question: 'what's the memorable small (v-kei) venue for the band members?'

S: Area or Cyber recently got closed, right? I really don't remember... didn't we only play at Rock-may-kan? I think no small venues [we played at] are left in Kansai? only Cowboy or Muse Hall.

K: I guess only Rock-may-kan.

Ta: how about for Shibere Bajiru?

K: with going straight to Shibire (like paying too much attention?), is that a shoulder pad. No? I wanted to see~

F: Cyber, Area is a very sad news... K, you don't have any [venues]?

K: not really...

Ta: 'what's the book you've recently read or a movie you've seen?'

S: ehm... nothing much... I also don't really read manga. But I've seen Demon Slayer. I got into it after watching anime.

K: heh, about Demon Slayer, I ordered the comics to be delivered, but only volumes 4~8 came. Am I supposed to start from vol 4? Wouldn't it be horrible? don't wanna start there

K: there's this thing I have, only get into it after it stops being so popular. I also didn't watch yesterday.

F: what kind of books do you read?

K: I read various things ... but I'm really excited about the new story from the Innocent.

Ta: 'what's your kanji of the year?'

S: 心・kokoro from 心夜・Shinya

Ta: isn't that the same every year?

K: for me... nothing really.

Ta: what was it this year (officially)?

S: 密・mitsu・crowd/carefulness, right?

K: (still trying to think) ...nothing really.

F: 'if you were to play on a different position in a band?'

S: by elimination only the guitar is left.

K: not the vocals? You're going for the guitar??

S: I'm not going for the vocals...

K: but you sing in karaoke?

S: I can't sing...

K: there's emotional singing! You're often angry!

S: I haven't gotten angry in 10+ years

K: but you sing the chorus!

S: but there's only short phrase with the chorus...

K: but you're doing lotsa of choruses

S: well... I'm practicing...but vocals are the most impossible for me...

'If you done something else than vocals?'

K: Takumi's position is good, watching the band members from the side, if it's something else than vocals then from the side is good.

S: but you like bass? That's the only idea I have for you.

K: that's only when song writing though!?

S: but you've been playing everywhere, right?

K: where everywhere? I haven't!

S: you have that time... (=sukekiyo)

Ta: aren't we going fast today? 'is there any country you'd like to visit?'

S: if possible I don't want to go...

K: but you're always going somewhere alone. To play board games etc

S: it only happened because I was already going.

Ta: Kyo doesn't want to go like "I'm!Not!Going!"

K: I'm playing a bit online games (Fortnite), but I'm told I suck at it. When you suck at something it's usually better to quit, I'm told so, many times, why is this guy going that way or is he going to the enemy's site on purpose? I'm told things like that from 6:30 in the morning sometimes.

K: if I (my heart) get broken by that how should I continue living?

S: I'm being told 'how are you living?'. I'm using the pig character but it feels like I'm living like a pig. I can block out the talk, but I'd rather hear those terrible opinions.

K: but it's hard

S: it is really hard.

K: when I played with Fujieda it was going well! He told me, get down or make your nose bigger

S: it also went well when we played, don't go there, let's go there and so on.

K: but the fights take about 20 mins in DbD, right? I'm dead in Fortnite in about 10 seconds

Ta: 'what do you like about F?'

S: he's always full of energy and almost never gets sad

K: his nose? Doesn't it get bigger as you look at it?

F: is that a praise?

K: it's easy to breathe and the mask stays on. Hands down it's your nose.

F: 'what song would you like to listen to very loudly?'

S: I'm not good with loud sounds... I prefer to listen quietly.

F: what do you listen to nowadays?

S: our new song(s)

K: I also don't want to listen (loudly), not really...

F: how about a song to listen quietly?

K: nothing special

F: Fujifuji!x

K: (ignoring him) (removes invisible dust from his shoulder)

Ta: 'what would you ask Santa for?'

S: it would be PS5?

K: Me? After all of that, I don't need it anymore, don't come. How does he get inside? There is no chimney. Is he picking a lock? Is Santa like a cockroach? Pretending to be dead when they're not... but maybe Santa is fine with all of that.

K: in the past, when I was in elementary school I was happy when Santa came, but then at some point he stopped coming. Wasn't that a crime (Santa's visits)? and parents also don't know how he comes in, isn't that scary? And from that time he doest come. I don't want him to come anymore.

'What song do you want to play when you can do concerts again?'

S: And Zero. I saod that in Sendai as well, but if it's not mode of Arche we probably won't...

Kyo: I don't really have one..

F: Do you want to play new songs?

K: I haven't listen to it (them). Isn't it how it is that you listen to them even when you weren't planning to? you dot feel like listening so much to the song you made yourself, no?

S: I also haven't listened to the new song(s) much.

Ta: Fujieda is listening to new songs a lot, in a car.

K: isn't that a bit narcissistic?

F: you don't want to perform new songs?

S: I already did while filming the music videos... doesn't that count?

'what time you go to bed and wake up?'

S: I go to bed at 6 and wake up at 1pm. It's my cycle.

K: I go to sleep at 1 and wake up around half nine. Should be around then? So there's someone who wants to know information like this?

F: they want to imagine (their lives)

K: and for what? Even if they know the time they don't know what we do

K: what time you wake up and then what time do you make coffee, make a toast, I don't understand why asking that, what's the point?

F: Shinya, is there something you'd like to know about Kyo?

S: I want to know everything.

K: I hate it that this person is called a doctor.

F: when the band has just started you two have met as first, right? What was your impression then?

S: I thought he's a really good person.

K: ...Oh?

F: And did you hit it off/became friends?

K: he didn't speak like this then. He spoke one or two things a day. He had long black hair and earrings.

S: You've bleached that black hair for me.

K: and, he said 'thank you' but... he said his kanji of the year is 心・heart, but he's the one without one. For over 20 years all band members are saying that he's like a robot or humanoid. When you go to his house he will reply with 'what is it?' with the chain on the door.

S: this is because when a certain member came some things happened...

K: But when I came over I was nice! I want to visit! Remodel stuff! (with enthusiasm)

S: remodeling... (like the certain member) there are issues like that and that's why you're banned...

'is it weird if your mother comes to the concerts?'

K: isn't it okay?

S: and brings dad...

K: I'd love to see mother headbanging. The deep one when you start from waist!

F: do your parents come to the shows?

S: mine often come.

F: your parents as well, Kyo?

K: sometimes.

F: is it something you welcome?

K: yeah.

And then F asked when they came last time but probably T said nlt to ask something like that

Hi. Maybe you don’t give your reasoning, but if you do, why don’t you think L is F’s father? I dk if it’s one thing/event? Is it how it was presented? Is presented? Do you think it’s serving a purpose? Was serving a purpose? A lot of people do explain it with B not being the mom so that excludes L more easily. Like I said, I dk if you discuss these things, but I’m of course interested in your thoughts if you do. Thank you!

I don't know if I've ever answered this in full anon, so I'll do it now (but under a read more - this is quite long and very close to my boundaries in terms of talking about this).

I came into the fandom at the beginning of 2015, so the first thing that's affecting my understanding of what's going on was the two month break in the OTRA tour. After their Dubai gig (and some family time in Dubai), Louis went back to the UK and played in a football match and then did some writing and rolled some joints in endearing ways in photos that were sent to the Sun. Then after being seen either out or in the studio every day, until late April, he went MIA for just under a week. There were sitings of him in LA (one was someone in fandom who said their friend had seen him and Harry, but another was a complete random on twitter). Then he was papped at the airport, carrying the psychopath test on 3 May 2015. It seemed like he'd got there earlier and this was a very public arrival.

The other airport pap pics that seemed really significant was 2 June 2015, where Louis was papped at LAX. 1D had been in rehearsals for their next leg, which started on 5 June in Cardiff. He then took photos with the Chimpanzee from the Steal My Girl video and flew back like 36 hours later. They ended up adding songs from 4 in the European leg, but not straight away.

This (and a bunch of other stories I was telling about Harry and Louis being happy together, which included snoppy/Basquiat shirts, Barcelona coin braclets, the AIMH tweet on a flag, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I've now forgotten) was the context that I experienced the People article of July 2015.

I feel like all the weirdness around that is pretty well covered. The close connections with 1D's team. The way they never seemed to own the story. I found it weird and stressful, but I never really thought that it might be true and that was mainly because of the timing.

They announced that Briana was 11 weeks pregnant, which meant she would have conceived 9 weeks ago (pregnancy is counted from someone's last period, rather than conception). That seemed to me totally bizzarre, particularly as paternity could only have been confirmed for 2-3 weeks at the time of conception (here's a post I wrote about that in February 2016).

I actually think it's even more unlikely that the People magazine at 11 weeks would have happened if Louis had knocked someone up now than I did at the time. First because we now know that the end was in site at this point. 1D's management and label would just have had to keep the secret until the end of the year and then it wasn't their problem. That seems to me to be a huge extra motivation for all involved to keep it quiet. Second, we've seen how effectively Louis' personal life can be kept quiet, when they want to.

There are two things I want to bring out about the timing. First the person who owned Eli the chimpanzee knew Brett and when Louis went to LA in early July, he took a photo with Austin Clark. Obviously looking back that becomes the trip where Louis was going to talk to Briana about being pregnant. And if it was, it's so fucking bizzarre that it would be so widely publicised.

The second is those two airport pap trips are one of the many reasons I don't think this whole thing was planned in advance, and why I think this wouldn't have happened if Briana hadn't got pregnant. Louis arriving in LA so late gave them very little options in terms of the story. I think Briana was further along when they announced, but they couldn't say that, because then Louis wouldn't have been there for conception. But if they were going to do it they needed to do it then, to avoid running into the roll out for MITAM (why did they feel the need to do it - that's a whole different question). In addition if having Louis prettend to be a father was planned months in advance, then they wouldn't have had to cut into rehearsals aLnd delayed performing new songs. I don't think what happened is consistent with some fans theories of something that was meticulously planned months in advance.

So that was my position all the way through the pregnancy. I never took the possibility that there wouldn't be a denial seriously, mostly because it was so incredible to me that a boyband member's unintended pregnancy would be announced at 11 weeks.

I was really shocked when the birth took place, and shocked again when the birth certificate was released (I still remember where I was when that news came out). The messiness of it all and the ways it was possible to still believe that Louis wasn't the father despite what was happening is reasonably well covered. I doubted a lot and was on an emotional roller coaster that year. The one thing I held on to was that the story was that Louis hadn't had a paternity test. That just obviously wasn't true and I found it really interesting that they were telling it.

But I was super anxious that Louis might be the father all through that year, and spent a lot of time trying to make sense of it all. Until December 2016, when it became clear why nothing made any sense. And I was reminded of how much I don't know. But in addition to all that existential stuff, I also realised that Briana and Freddie had come to the UK in December 2015 to be seen by the fandom and not to see Jay (this is clear from their travel details).

And that was what settled my anxiety and uncertainty, and made me relaxed in my belief that Louis wasn't Freddie's father. If Jay wanted to see her grandchild, then I was convinced that Louis would and could have organised that. And everything we knew about Jay suggested that she would have wanted to see her grandchild.

Now I'm not here to argue that logic - I probably was more certain about that than was justified. I don't know Jay - and obviously a lot was going down that year. In general, I think that things are probably far messier than I could possibly imagine, and that makes certainty a little absurd.

But for me that meant that I was no longer keyed up and anxious, and was sort of calm in my belief that Louis wasn't the father. As time has passed, and options have been cut off, I've also become more accepting of the idea that I might be wrong and Louis might be Freddie's father. I don't think he is, but whatever is actually going on doesn't stress me out anymore.

#If I was going to advocate any particular belief in this fandom #not on the grounds that it's correct #just for people's well being #it's the belief that Briana is Freddie's mother #it just makes the whole thing so much simpler #and explains why the thing is sustainable long term #and is heaps less damaging and distressing to imagine

“We are so going to win this,” Kurt exclaimed as he walked out of the bathroom stall and looked at his outfit in the mirror. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a skintight black shirt, black leather pants and black, knee-high laced up boots. He had on sunglasses even though it was indoors and his hair was spiked up with hair gel. He had drawn a star on his cheek and had blue and purple glitter on his face along with guyliner.

“Well they might as well just give it to us now with the way we look,” Sebastian said, walking out of his stall and up to Kurt. Him and Kurt were matching except Sebastian wasn’t wearing the laced-up boots. He looked his boyfriend up and down and smiled. “We look hot.”

“I know we do babe,” Kurt said, kissing him on the cheek. “And our performance is going to be even better, I know it.”

“Yeah well we better get going, don’t want to keep everyone waiting. Do you think Mr. Schue and Artie have everything set up?” Sebastian asked. They had asked Mr. Schue if they could have some special effects and props for their performance and their teacher had happily agreed.

“I don’t know,” Kurt said, taking out his phone. “I’ll text Artie and ask him.”

The week’s assignment in the glee club was to sing a song about victory and Kurt and Sebastian had admittedly known the perfect song for them to sing. It was upbeat and full of energy. The assignment was a competition and whatever group won got the duet at Sectionals. Sebastian didn’t really care about winning since he had been the lead soloist for the Warblers and had sung solos at the competitions but he knew that Kurt wasn’t as lucky as him even if he was the most talented performer in the group. He knew how much a duet would mean for Kurt so they went all out with costumes, make-up, special effects and props. They also came up with matching choreography and Sebastian had to say that it was the most work and effort he had ever put into anything. But it was all worth it because he knew they were going to win and he really wanted that duet for Kurt. His boyfriend deserved it.

Kurt had told him about the glee club’s duet competition last year and about how he ended up singing a duet by himself because Finn didn’t want him to sing with Sam. It had just hurt Kurt even more when Sam and Quinn had won the competition and Kurt had told him that even though he loved singing “Le Jazz Hot” that he was glad he had a partner this year. Sebastian had seen the video of Kurt’s performance and thought that Kurt would be the only person in the world who could pull off singing a duet as a solo.

His costume was so creative and so was the background he had designed. He had also designed costumes for the Cheerios he had paid to act as background dancers for him and the choreography was stunning. Sebastian thought that he should’ve won but Kurt told him that Finn and Rachel were acting fishy the whole time so they probably had something to do with Sam and Quinn’s win. Not that they didn’t deserve to win but even Santana and Mercedes’ performance of “River Deep, Mountain High'' was mind blowing. Kurt didn’t care about winning so much as having someone to sing with and made a joke saying that he may be able to sing a duet by himself but that he didn’t want to have dinner by himself. But last year didn’t matter anymore because this year they were going to win a duet at Sectionals and not some stupid dinner at a cheap restaurant when Sebastian could easily pay for his own date and could take Kurt to a 5-star restaurant.

Plus this time the group couldn’t vote for themselves so as long as they blew it out of the park then they were for sure the winners. They were the last to go this week seeing that they had spent so long preparing themselves and that they had just finished up their performance the previous day. Brittany and Santana had sung “Try Everything” by Shakira, Finn and Rachel had sung “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, Sam and Puck had sung “Victorious” by Panic! At The Disco, Tina, Mercedes and Quinn had sung “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift as a trio and Mike and Artie had sung “On Top Of The World” by Imagine Dragons. All the performances were good but Sebastian thought that the only competition they really had was against Sam and Puck since they had picked a song similar to theirs, the only difference was they didn’t put in the extra effort. They had it in the bag.

“He says they're ready,” Kurt squealed. “Oh, I’m so excited, Seb, just imagine us singing a duet at Sectionals. Together. It’d be so romantic and fun and we would win the competition for the New Directions.”

“Well you won’t have to imagine much longer. You deserve this more than anyone else Kurt. Don’t go down without a fight, okay?” Sebastian told him. Sebastian thought that sometimes Kurt went too easy on his friends and let them push him to the side when Kurt was a star. He needed to stand up for himself more and go after what he wanted.

“I won’t, I promise.” Kurt said and grabbed ahold of Sebastian’s hand. “Now let’s go win this duet.” He cheered and they grabbed their stuff before walking out of the bathroom.

They walked to the choir room hand in hand, mentally preparing themselves for their song. They couldn’t help but worry a little too much, especially Kurt. The choreography was a little complicated and it had taken them some time to really nail it down but it would be worth it in the end. It was fast, just like the music and they had to mind the spacing in the choir room also.

Once they reached the choir room they stood outside of the doors, Kurt to the right and Sebastian to the left. They were planning to come into the room when the music started to surprise everyone and to add an effect. They would storm into the room, grabbing everyone’s attention and the lights and the costumes and the choreography and the singing would be a crowd pleaser.

“Okay, why am I so nervous?” Kurt asked, pacing back and forth, fidgeting with his hands.

“I don’t know, why are you?” Sebastian asked. Kurt had no reason to be nervous right now. He was amazing and he could and would pull this off. “Hey, look at me babe,” He told Kurt and took his hands to hold them. “We’re going to win this and we're going to perform at Sectionals. Don’t worry about it, you’re going to psych yourself out.”

“I know,” Kurt nodded. “I just… things are never certain and I really want this Seb. It’s my last Sectionals and I want it to be really special.”

“I know you do and I want this for you too so just calm down, focus, breathe and get your head in the game.”

“I will,” Kurt said, doing what Sebastian told him to do and taking a deep breath. “Artie says that he’ll text me when they're ready inside but the band is still setting up.”

Sebastian nodded and gave Kurt a kiss before going back to the other door to the choir room. Inside everyone was talking to each other about the setup of the room.

“Of course this is for Lady Hummel and Fivel, gays always go full out,” Santana said, looking around the room.

“Well doesn’t this seem like a little too much?” Rachel asked the group who just shrugged in response. “I mean it’s not like they’re going to win over me and Finn.”

“You know what Man-Hands,” Quinn snapped. “Just for that I’m not voting for you. And The Climb was the worst. How is that about victory?”

“It’s about overcoming obstacles in life. My obstacles being you guys and how hard it is working with people who are less talented than you.” Rachel said, nonchalantly.

“Rachel, babe, you can’t just say things like that.” Finn told her. “It’s not nice. But anyways, this does seem like something Kurt would do. Remember his “duet” last year?”

“You mean the duet he did by himself because your homophobic ass couldn’t handle him singing a song with Sam?” Quinn asked, raising an eyebrow. “I remember and he nailed it. You guys better watch out because now he has Sebastian and we all know how badly he wants a duet.”

“Hey, I wasn’t being homophobic, I was looking out for the team. Sam knows what I’m talking about right dude?” Finn asked Sam who shrugged.

“I don’t know man, some of the shit you said was really offensive. And I was all set to sing with him and then you talked to us and he set me free. I would totally have still done it if it wasn’t for you.” Sam explained, narrowing his eyes at Finn. Sam liked Kurt a lot and they were really close with one another. Sam treated Kurt like he was one of the guys and they had only bonded more when Kurt had helped him out the previous school year with his siblings. He had really wanted to sing with him but then Kurt had let him go and Sam was too worried about his popularity at the time to try and get Kurt to keep their arrangement. Up until now Kurt and Sam had only sung one or two lines together in a group piece and Sam had always thought that maybe he could still see if Kurt wanted to sing with him. He’d have to ask him.

“That’s not what I meant, it’s just…” Finn’s voice trailed off and threw his hands in the air, frustrated. “... you just don’t get it,”

“It doesn’t matter now anyway. Kurt has a partner this time and it’s obvious that he’s in it to win it with Seb,” Tina said. “He should’ve gotten this a long time ago.” She rolled her eyes at Rachel.

“Yeah well he could’ve gotten a solo at Sectionals two years ago if he would’ve hit the high F but he couldn’t despite saying he was able to. It’s not my fault that I have a superior vocal range.” Rachel sneered.

“You know what Berry I’m sick of your shit,” Santana yelled, pointing her finger at Rachel. “Let me give you a little newsflash here. First of all, half the people in this room like Artie, Mercedes and I have a better vocal range than you. Kurt can sing just as good as any of us but no one ever gives him the chance to shine. He can hit that note, he’s hit it several times before right in front of you but you never noticed because your ego’s ten sizes the size it should be. We weren’t going to tell you because we didn’t want to risk you throwing a hissy fit and blabbing your mouth but we already decided that we’re voting for him. He deserves this and he’s the only member of this club that hasn’t had a chance to shine yet. So shut up, suck it up and deal with it you selfish bitch.” Santana fell back in her seat and folded her arms across her stomach as she watched her friends' (and Rachel’s) expressions.

All the girl besides Rachel looked proud of her (and why shouldn't they be), the boys looked surprised and shocked (which they shouldn't be because that wasn’t the first time she had told Berry off) and Finn and Rachel looked like she had just slapped them (and they were lucky that she didn’t because she really wanted to).

The room was silent for a few seconds before Artie and Mr. Schue came out of Mr. Schue’s adjoining office. “Okay everyone, I think we’re all ready to watch our last performance from Kurt and Sebastian. Artie you can get Kurt to tell him that we’re all ready for him.” Artie pulled out his phone to text Kurt while Mr. Schue continued talking. “Now after they are finished we’ll be voting to see who wins the competition and remember, you can’t vote for yourselves this time.”

“Is there even a point in voting?” Rachel muttered and everyone except Finn shot her a death glare.

“Okay, he says that they’re ready,” Artie said. “Let’s start up the smoke and then he says they’ll come in when the music starts playing.”

“Alright then,” Mr. Schue said, going over to the smoke machine and staring it up. “Hit it you guys,” He said, referring to the band who started playing the background music for the song.

“Wait,” Kurt said. “I hear the music,” He told Sebastian. “Ready babe?”

“Born ready babe,” Sebastian assured his boyfriend. “Let’s do this,”

And with that they opened their doors and walked into the choir room like they had planned to. They admittedly started singing while going through the choreography like they planned. The scene was perfect. They were blue and purple lights flashing around the room and Mr. Schue and Artie had properly set up the smoke machine so that the room was misty. Kurt and Sebastian felt like they were at an actual rock concert which got them in the mood for their performance even more.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying their performance already except for Rachel who had a stony expression on her face and who sat there in her chair with her arms crossed. They kept dancing and Kurt felt a sort of high when he realized that they were hitting the moves exactly like how they had planned. Kurt turned into Sebastian and then Sebastian took his arm and spun him back out. Then they had prepped themselves before going into a roundoff back handspring in the choir room, earning clapping and cheering from their friends.

They both sang the chorus and walked around the room and interacted with their audience, Sebastian high fived Puck and Sam while Kurt danced with Quinn and Brittany. ‘So far so good’ Kurt thought to himself, excitedly. He was so happy that they seemed happy about him being so extra about the performance and that they seemed to love it. He was just a few minutes away from winning the duet, he could feel the feeling of victory already and the song just pumped him up even more.

Flick the switch and the missile will fire

The boys went back to the center of the room and Sebastian quickly glanced over to Kurt and was happy to see how into it he was. He was moving along with the music, adding his own pizazz to their dancing. He put his hand on his face and dragged it down his face to emphasize the glitter and then took his jacket off his shoulders slightly, matching with the lyrics. On the last line they stood back to back and sang it together as the audience continued to cheer and holler.

They started singing the chorus again. They stood on opposite sides of the room and swung one leg forward before forcing it back and flipping over into a backflip. Then Kurt slid to the floor in a split and swung his legs forward to spin himself around on the floor. Sebastian walked over to him and took his hand spinning him around in the floor before helping him up off the floor. Kurt stood up gracefully and Sebastian dipped Kurt back. They held the pose as Sebastian took over the lyrics and then Sebastian lowered Kurt down so he could fall into a backbend. He let go as Kurt kicked himself over and then they started singing the bridge.

Ooh yeah, take a walk on the wild with me

Never gonna stop 'til we reach the top

You'd better get out of the game it's never gonna be the same

They both hit the high note and Kurt had to resist the temptation he had to ditch the choreography and to jump up and down with excitement. They walked around the room, clapping their hands together and the rest of the glee club even Rachel joined in on the clapping. There was no way they weren’t going to win. Everyone was loving them and they were doing amazing. They were on fire, they were pumped up and they were going to finish out strong.

They pumped their fists up in the air as they sang the lyrics. Mercedes, Tina and Quinn were singing the lyrics along with them, Mike, Brittany and Santana were doing their own moves in their seats, Puck, Sam and Artie were pumping their fists along with Kurt and Sebastian and Finn and Rachel were quietly observing the scene but Kurt could tell that they were both impressed with him and his boyfriend.

Ooh yeah yeah-oh yeah yeah yeah

Mr. Schue’s expression was the best though. He seemed shocked with Kurt’s and Sebastian’s dance moves and singing, like he didn’t know they had it in them. There was nothing more that both boys loved more than proving people wrong while also proving themselves.

Kurt walked over to Sebastian and they stood next to each other as they finished out their dancing, ensign off with a series of complicated footwork. They got it right, matching it up with music and ended their song, posing, back to back again, with their arms crossed and their heads bowed down a little so that their sunglasses slipped down to the bridge of their noses.

Gonna take you to the top to the brink of what you believe

The music faded out and they held their pose as they got a standing ovation from their friends. Everyone cheered and clapped for them and Kurt finally gave in to his temptation and jumped up and down, holding hands with Sebastian. They hugged each other and Sebastian lifted Kurt off his feet.

“Wow,” Mr. Schue exclaimed. “That was amazing boys. The costumes, the special effects, the energy, kudos to the both of you.”

“Thank you,” Kurt said, still full of energy. He was so happy at the moment, he wouldn’t even be that upset if they had lost. Of course, they weren’t going to though because they had kicked ass but nothing was written in stone yet.

“What do you say guys?” Mr. Schue asked his students. “Are we ready to vote?”

“Actually Mr. Schue, I don’t think that’s necessary,” Rachel said, standing up. ��We all decided that we want Kurt and Sebastian to sing at Sectionals. Kurt really deserves it and I think that his performance with Sebastian just goes to show that even more.” Everyone nodded their heads in agreement and Sebastian squeezed Kurt’s hand. He was getting his duet!

“I couldn’t agree more Rachel,” Mr. Schue said as he turned back to the two boys. “Well, congratulations you two, you won the duet. Start brainstorming some ideas and we'll talk about it tomorrow. Oh, and try to incorporate some of those moves. That’ll guarantee us a win alone. Well done gentleman.”

“We did it Seb,” Kurt said, hugging him again. “We did it. We’re gonna sing at Sectionals. Oh my god.” Everyone laughed at how excited Kurt was and clapped for the boys again.

“I know, I know,” Sebastian told him. “This is great. You did great. You were amazing babe.”

“I couldn’t have done it without you, Seb” Kurt smiled and they kissed each other before going to sit down in their seats. They would have to do this all over again and they both couldn’t wait.

Twin Kingdoms (A3! Event story) - Chapter 5

Haruto is distracted during rehearsals. Tasuku worries. Yuki pays a visit. Azami is impressed by Tsumugi’s and Juza’s passion for acting. They spotted who practicing out in the cold?!?

Chapter 4 | Index | Chapter 6

Tasuku: Morning. Tsumugi: Good morning. You've got rehearsals today too, right? Tasuku: Yeah. From morning, all day long. Tsumugi: What's practice like? Tasuku: Once again, a stimulating environment. Tasuku: The way they're unified, including those working behind the scenes, is the way it used to be, but Reni-san's influence or the atmosphere within the troupe have changed immensely. Tasuku: Discussions are livelier than in the past, and despite the nervousness towards Reni-san, everyone has come to relax and express their opinions. Tsumugi: The current top, Shift-kun, has an air of frankness too. He's a good kid with a relaxed manner, right? Tasuku: Yeah. I believe the top's personality had a certain influence too. Tasuku: (But Haruto is... Even though he's the lead this time, it feels like he's the only one not used to GOD Troupe's atmosphere.) Tsumugi: What about the lead, Haruto-kun? Tasuku: ...Sure enough, I think he's the one who understands GOD Troupe's plays better than anyone. Tasuku: Only Haruto can perfectly anticipate and grasp the points Reni-san might ask for. Tasuku: He has enough ability to play the lead. Tsumugi: As you'd expect. Tasuku: (But maybe precisely because he understands Reni-san better than anyone else, he's also most upset about that change.) Tasuku: (It may be difficult for him to change because he's done his best just to embody Reni-san's ideals so far.) Tasuku: (It'd good if he doesn't find himself at an impasse...)

Reni: We will operate the projector video image here. Izumi: That's GOD Troupe for you. Your theatre has a variety of equipment. Reni: All sorts of things should be applicable at MANKAI Theatre too. Since it was selected rather carefully within the budget. Izumi: That's certainly helpful! Reni: This time, I was thinking of dividing the stage in two, into ice country and flame country. Izumi: I see. The ice country, pictured on top of a freezing mountain, and the flame country in the magma underground... Izumi: If it's well divided, it might be easier to visualise them. Reni: Heaven and earth, huh... Reni: An outlandish idea is similar to him. Izumi: Eh? You mean dad? Reni: Let's consider that direction for a moment. Izumi: Okay! Izumi: (I've never talked about directing with other people like this, so this is really illuminating.)

Yuki: Good work. Azami: Thank you. So you came. Yuki: They let me observe since I was already in the meeting for the costume plan. Azami: How was the meeting? Yuki: I proposed some high-cost fabric that would definitely get rejected if we were dealing with the money-grubbing yakuza, but it passed easily. Yuki: They said that it was common for GOD Troupe. I got excited for a moment, but you can just feel the gap, right? Azami: I got jealous when I saw the makeup staffs' tools too. Yuki: I want a bigger budget. Azami: That. Being poor is hard. Yuki: How is practice going? Azami: Hm, I'd heard lots of rumours about Reni-san, so I was considerably prepared, but he's not harsh and actually feels rather gentle. It was anticlimactic. Azami: Also, I've never been with Tasuku-san together for so long, so sometimes I feel disconcerted. Azami: Even during breaks, he's so into his role that he sometimes doesn't come back. Yuki: Yeah. That's the theatre idiot for you. What are the GOD Troupe members like? Azami: Seeing Shift performing all seriously in the practice room is really refreshing and fun. Totally different from his usual self. Yuki: Isn't he probably thinking the same? Azami: Maybe. The lead, Haruto-san's... Yuki: What? Azami: Nah, it's nothin'. Azami: (The way Haruto-san seems... it kind of reminds me of someone.)

Reni: Haruto, Cain's interpretation is shallow. That way, it appears as if he's just taking action while being swept away. Reni: Shift as well; you're still not quite conveying Lutz' feelings for Cain. Reni: Restructure the relationship between the two of them some more. Haruto: Yes. Shift: Okay. Reni: As for Tasuku and Izumida, the relation of master to servant has pretty much come to completion. Reni: I think it would be alright if you brought out more of the affable parts in one another, but that route is generally fine. Haruto: ...... Haruto: (That's right. When Tasuku was in GOD Troupe, he was always complimented, and I was the only one who got criticised...) Haruto: (Each time, I would commit everything I was told to memory and exerted myself to meet all of Reni-san's demands...) Reni: ...Haruto. Haruto? Shift: Haruto-san! Haruto: Ye, yes!? Reni: I was telling you to consult with Tasuku regarding your scene together in the 2nd act... Were you not listening? Haruto: ...I'm sorry! Haruto: (Me, doing something like failing to hear Reni-san's words--) Reni: Never mind. We will be taking a 20-minute break now. After that, we will begin with act 2. Haruto: ...Understood.

Haruto: ....Haah. Haruto: (Reni-san wasn't even mad.... Maybe that means he was completely disappointed.) Haruto: (Up until now, there were so many times where I got severely scolded... And each time, I'd practice like mad.) Haruto: (Without missing what the other troupe members were told, I'd do my best so that he wouldn't take notice of me for the same thing.) Haruto: (I don't have the physique that Tasuku was blessed with, nor the kind of focus where I'm so completely lost in my acting that I forget to sleep and eat.) Haruto: (Rather than getting into my role, I end up being more worried over how I am being seen.) Haruto: (Is my intonation alright? Or do I look like a person with the right quality for GOD Troupe? ... I have always overcome it with effort.) Haruto: (In the end, I have no choice but to do do everything in my power regardless of appearances.) Haruto: (It will work out. It's always been that way. From now on too--)

Haruto: --huh? Haruto: (It's unlocked?) Haruto: ......

Tasuku: "Tch, that pighead! His brains are fossilising with old age." Haruto: Tasuku... Tasuku: Oh, Haruto, are you here to practice on your own too? I wanted to do a bit more too, so I asked the staff to keep it open for me for a while longer. Haruto: Doesn't your troupe have their own practice room? Tasuku: But here, I can do it in the same area as the actual performance. That makes grasping the feeling easier. Haruto: Hmm. Tasuku: Since you're here, let's try that scene Reni-san wanted us to discuss today-- Haruto: I just came to get something I forgot. Tasuku: .....Come to think of it, this has happened before. Haruto: Is that right? Well, I'm leaving first. Tasuku: ......

Azami: Phew.... Azami: (I took a bath, so all that's left is sleep... ah, before I go to bed, maybe I should read the script and go over what I was told today.) Tsumugi: You don't have to put that in the fridge? Juza: 'cause I'm eatin' it right away. Tsumugi: Oh. Azami: ....Hey, show me what's in that grocery bag. Azami: It's all sweet stuff. Don't tell me you're thinking of eating this now? Tsumugi: We got caught by the person who wasn't supposed to find us. Juza: .....That reminds me, we saw that guy while on our way back. Azami: Even if you try to evade the subject-- Tsumugi: No, really. I was thinking of telling Tasuku too. Azami: Who do you mean? Juza: Was it Yamada? [1] Tsumugi: No, it's Asuka Haruto. From GOD Troupe. Juza: We only saw him from afar, but it looked like he was practicing on the river bed with the script in one hand. Azami: Why would he do that on the river bed in this cold? He's definitely going to catch a cold. When he could just use GOD Troupe's practice rooms. Juza: While on the way home, he probably had the sudden urge for individual practice? Azami: Suddenly, while walking home? Does that happen? Tsumugi: It does, usually. Juza: Yeah. Like when you want to try something that you suddenly thought of. Tsumugi: What happens often is when you think of a performance plan while you're walking, right? Azami: Seriously? Azami: (....You guys are the real deal.)

Album Review: Confetti by Little Mix

During one of the bleakest years in human history, Little Mix has delivered us pure joy and happiness in the form of their sixth studio album: CONFETTI. I became a fan of Little Mix, a Mixer is what we’re called, a few years ago when I clicked on one of my coworker’s Spotify playlists. The first song of theirs I can recall listening to is “F.U.” from their fourth album Glory Days. After looking up their other albums I then ventured over to YouTube so I could watch a few of their music videos. I instantly fell in love with the choreo-heavy “Touch” and the slumber party-themed “Hair”. I then started looking at their live performances and I was blown away. For me, Little Mix is everything I ever wanted out of Fifth Harmony. Now before I get some hate, Fifth Harmony is/was a great pop group and without them we wouldn’t have Normani, but whereas some of the girls in Fifth Harmony are/were more vocally talented than others, each of the members of Little Mix - Jade, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie - have amazing voices and those voices blend together so perfectly.

I’m so glad I discovered Little Mix when I did because it gave me enough time to binge their albums, music videos and live performances just in time for their fifth studio album LM5 to drop. If I had to rank the albums prior to CONFETTI, LM5 would definitely be at the top of my list. Realistically-speaking, the album didn’t perform as well as their other albums but the album is damn near perfect in my opinion. I then later learned the girls were going through a separation with their then-record label Syco which is a major factor in why the album didn’t perform as well as it could.

CONFETTI is Little Mix’s first album since leaving Syco so many of us were very much looking forward to what the girls were going to deliver without having Simon Cowell standing on their neck. Our first taste of a newly emancipated Little Mix came in the form of the 80′s-inspired “Break Up Song”. They released their second single “Holiday” in the middle of the summer and their third single “Sweet Melody” was released a few weeks ahead of the album’s November 6 release. Being in the United States, I stayed up past midnight so I can listen to the album and since it’s release it’s been in heavy rotation on Spotify. I thought it would be fun to review the album and rate each of the tracks. There are 13 tracks on CONFETTI and I will be giving my thoughts on each track as well as a score based on a scale of 10. For those of you reading this, keep in mind, I am one of way too many Little Mix fans to count so if there are tracks that you like that I do not rate as high, just remember this is my opinion so forgive me, HAHA. Without further ado, here’s my review of CONFETTI:

BREAK UP SONG: The first track on the album is also the album’s first single. Break Up Song is not only a total vibe, it’s a total 80s vibe. I was delightfully surprised when Little Mix released this song earlier this year. I love that this song is yet another reminder of just how freakin’ talented these ladies are. My favorite part of the track is Jade’s bridge towards the end of the song. The song is bright and fun and I simply cannot resist busting out some serious 80s dance moves every time the song comes on. Rating: 10/10

HOLIDAY: While Break Up Song gives up 80s pop vibes, Holiday sticks its toes in the contemporary pop pool. It makes sense that this song was released smack dab in the middle of the summer because it is the perfect summer jam. I especially love the accompanying music video which features the girls luxuriating in a spa somewhere on the moon or maybe Mars. It’s sugary and sweet and just like Break Up Song it’s one of those songs you can’t resist dancing to. It should be noted Holiday is the second single off of CONFETTI and it is one of my top 3 favorite tracks off the album. Rating: 10/10

SWEET MELODY: When I first heard the reggaeton-infused Sweet Melody, my initial reaction was meh. Thank God I listened to the song again ... and again ... and again ... because on the second, third and fourth listening, I realized just how truly epic this song is. The lyrics are quite brilliant with my favorite being the Perrie-led second verse: “He would lie, he would cheat, over syncopated beats.” Not only is the song a banger, the music video is one of the best visuals Little Mix has ever released. The choreography is fire and you can tell they put their blood, sweat, tears and spinal cord into their dancing. Sweet Melody is my favorite track on CONFETTI. Rating: 10/10

CONFETTI: Prior to the release of CONFETTI, this track was made available. This song gives me late-90s/early-2000s R&B vibes and I quite enjoy it. It doesn’t hit as nearly as hard as Sweet Melody but this is yet another song I can picture being played in a club. If Little Mix releases any more singles from this album, which I believe they should, I think Confetti is a strong contender. I imagine the music video will be very heavy on the choreo. Rating: 9/10

HAPPINESS: Category Is: Songs That Could Have Been Released By Britney Spears in the Early 2000s. Happiness is yet another track that was released ahead of the album. Unlike the first three tracks of the album which are very much songs about relationships, past and present, Happiness is the self-empowerment anthem we never knew we needed, especially in the year of our Lord 2020. Happiness is a splashy pop song but it doesn’t elicit the strong emotions I felt when listening to Break Up Song or Sweet Melody. Rating: 9/10

NOT A PROP SONG: One of the things I like about Little Mix is every so often they’ll release an acoustic version of their popular songs, i.e., Black Magic, Touch, Holiday. This song is acoustic rock and it is not a sound I was ever expecting from Little Mix. If there was a sequel to National Manthem, it would be Not a Pop Song. I like to think of this as Little Mix’s emancipation proclamation after fleeing the clutches of one Simon Cowell. My favorite lyric from the song is in the chorus: “No more singing songs bout breaking my heart or my lonely nights dancing in the dark.” I absolutely adore this song and it gives me early Kelly Clarkson vibes. Rating: 10/10

NOTHING BUT MY FEELINGS: This song from beginning to end is an absolute treat. I love how lowkey the song starts off and after the chorus, you assume the song is going to keep amping up but at the start of the second verse it goes back to being lowkey again. I love a song that keeps me guessing. I especially love the theme of the song, the struggle of wanting to keep things super casual with someone when deep down you are developing strong feelings for them even though you know you shouldn’t. If there was any doubt the ladies of Little Mix are not grown, this is proof. Rating: 9/10

GLOVES UP: One thing I like doing whenever a new album by one of my favorite artists is released is heading over to YouTube and watching people’s reaction the albums. It seem likes Gloves Up is a favorite off of this album and I just don’t get it. I don’t like to skip tracks, especially on Little Mix albums, but admittedly this is the one I’m tempted to skip when I’m listening to CONFETTI. I like the message but the song is a bit cliché. I hope that repeatedly listening of this track will make me like it, especially since I have a very strong feeling this is going to end up being a single. Rating: 6/10

A MESS (HAPPY 4 U): If Break Up Song had a sequel it would be this track. I love the lyrics and I love the instrumentation. It’s a gorgeous track and again something unexpected from Little Mix. I love Jade’s falsetto on this track. Rating: 9/10

MY LOVE WON’T LET YOU DOWN: I feel like in addition to giving us great dance bops, Little Mix also delivers when it comes to ballads. The gospel-tinged My Love Won’t Let You Down is absolutely gorgeous and will be the perfect closing song on one of their tours. There are Little Mix songs where I think, wow, I’d love to see what the music video would look like and then there are Little Mix songs where I think, wow, I’d love to see how they’d perform this. This track is definitely of the latter variety. All four of our queen’s vocals are on point. Rating: 10/10

RENDEZVOUS: Remember how I said there are three songs on this album that are my favorite? Sweet Melody is my fave track on the album and Rendezvous is my second-favorite. Rendezvous is sexy and sleek and reminds me of something Ciara would’ve released early on in her career. I also love that it samples the song Sway. I cannot wait to see how they perform this song on tour and I would love for this to be a future single because I would love to see Little Mix turn up the sex on one of their songs. This song reminds me of Notice for some reason from LM5. When Little Mix does sexy, the do sexy right! Rating: 10/10

IF YOU WANT MY LOVE: Like Gloves Up, If You Want My Love is another meh track on this album which sucks because it’s literally sandwiched between two perfect songs on the album. Perhaps this is another one I’ll have to keep listening to in hopes that it will grow on me. Right now I’m feeling pretty blasé about the track. Rating: 6/10

BREATHE: Yay! We get not just one ballad on CONFETTI but two! This is the perfect close to a pretty awesome Little Mix album. I’m happy to report the album ends as strong as it begins. Of the two ballads, I prefer My Love Won’t Let You Down but that shouldn’t suggest I don’t like this song. I love it and it’s another one I’d love to see performed live. Rating: 10/10

1 - Do you think the taejin spring day moment in mots on:e where tae literally scurried into jin's arms and standing and swinging in their own world are like them taking a revenge for making them stand at the opposite sides of the stage at bangbangcon+++ given up all the hopes of seeing anymore taejin moments in on:e. but then during no more dream tae didnt let go of jin's hand. then spring day happened again and when tae went or jin's belly >_< I cant just contain myself. pretty much when i thought ok thats it for us we arent getting more then tae melted into jin's arms, this literally made me cry. and then finally during the last bow they stood side by side...ahh my tj heart finds its peace now... what was your reaction of mots on:e

Me - Nope. Don’t think it’s that deep. They were a lot more relaxed and playful on day 2 to have skinship with each other on stage. As usual, Taejin’s moments tend to hit us like a truck when we least expect it. Time and time again, they’ve showed us how significant and special Spring Day is for the both of them. I watched both days, absolutely loved it. Although I’m just waiting for a proper offline concert soon :(

2 - My Mom too is an Army. JK is her bias. Jin & Yoongi took the longest to impress her. She knows that Tae is my fav. She has watched all BTS MVs, stage performances, some run episodes (I watched all), full Soop series, interviews, etc but not any Exclusive ship videos. She could tell about Jikook very early. Last night, she was praising all but forgot Jin. When I got offended, the most unexpected thing happened. She said " Jin is talented & Tae can even Die for him". She could tell🤤 Taejin? When my Mom said those words " Tae can even Die or Give away His Life for Jin", I couldn't respond for a while. I was so emotionally surprised. There are times when I doubt Taejin ( till mid 2019, I used to get confused with Jin's gay panic) then Jin became bolder & more expressive & Tae became subtle only around Jin While he continued to show open affection to JK & others. I doubted Tae's feelings towards Jin. I guess married people know better. My Mom's words truly surprised me.

Me - Jin gay panicking hahaha. It’s vice versa, both of them love each other so much that they’d protect each other with their lives. And we’ve seen it plenty of times. Personally I can’t tell with Jikook at all, they confuse me a lot. Perhaps she knows more since JK is her bias?

3 - As much as frustrated we taejinnies are that taejin never get to share a room do you think anything will happen even if they are together? like throughout the nights every room has cameras set up and they are recorded so probably except sleep-hugging i dont think they would be able to/allowed to do anything right? The closest time they can have in private is the tent where there is no camera inside. luckily BV3 already gave us that moment and tae also said it was spcl for him. what do you think?

Me - Well… I don’t expect anything except some cute interactions and maybe some cuddling? They’re all adults and know better. As for the tent, that is one special unusual exception. Namjoon sitting outside, the other tent wide open, Taejin’s tent zipped shut tight, the odd movements of the tent, and “I’ll never forget that night. It was special”... I have my guesses but the truth remains a big fat “?”.

4 - I am totally in love with your blog. What a waste I dint find it earlier!! I have two things to ask...1. I have read that you write slowly but eventually you are going to complete the 2018 19 20 chronology too right? I just cant wait after seeing the previous years compilation.

Me - Eventually I will, hehe. There’s just… so much to archive in chronological order. Don’t worry, my blog isn’t going anywhere!

5 - Srry fr asking ths late I ws jst going through ur posts nd suddenly one qs striked me. I fully agree on the taejin chronology u posted so it is most likely they hv definitely grown a lot intimate by 2017 fr sure. BV3 took place in 2018. During tht chat wth hobi jin seemed to be aware of whn T will be arriving so they must hv been in cntct. Even they went fr tht water activity together. They got plenty of chances fr J to let T know his room as J knew how T's room will be decided so why didnt he?

Me - I’m not sure either. I think they all just played by the rules. If Tae knew and marched straight into his room, it might have been obvious and the others might have been able to tell that he snitched? Their arrangement in BV3 is a game meant to make the show interesting so there are rules in place. Probably.

6 - In one of your post you said you visited bts concert at jamsil stadium where the so what chest bump happened and it just finished off in a whiff. Apart from so what did you notice any other taejin moment during the show cz the concert videos we see only focuses on the one who is speaking while the rest are not shown specifically. So when they were not on main screen did you notice any cute or subtle moments live?

Me - I saw Tae or Jin hovering around the other a couple of times near my area but besides that nothing much. Also it was my first BTS concert. I was focused on just enjoying it as a whole. There was just so much going on and it all happened so fast I didn’t really have time to pause and think about Taejin except during So What.

7 - While going though your posts I found out your bias was yoongi at first. But judging by your elaborate blog how you dont miss out taejin moments I would like to ask has your bias changed or is it still yoongi?

Me - After a lengthy discussion with my army friend, we came to the conclusion that Yoongi is still the closest to my heart. His lyrics make me cry the hardest. And also keeps me going and moving forward.

8 - Would love to read about a compilation of all taejin spring day and dna moments like the one you made of so what!!

Me - I would love to stop procrastinating and do that too…

9 - What are your top ten bts songs? I mean for me it happened many times after a special moment happens in any song during their performance automatically that song sticks into my head more and thus it climbs up towards the top my favourite bts songs list. This may be just only my heavily taejin biased mind but dis this ever happen to you also?

Me - Top ten… is really hard. Impossible to choose. Hmmm I fell in love with Spring Day and So What before I knew about Taejin.

10 - What's your take on taejin frequently matching clothes on stage during concerts? Yes all of them get similar outfits but I find taejin clothes to be almost giving out couple vibes on stage even. Lol. Probably I am at highest level of delulu.

Me - Yeah, recently they all match more so it’s harder to say but of course my Taejin bias self would say they have a couple vibe too hahaha.

11 - Do you ever daydream like maybe BH is cutting off all the taejin videos not to expose them now but all are actually aware of them even officially and someday when they come out maybe BH will release all these cut moments or make it into a lovely dvd? Yeah just like taejin live in their own bubble world amidst thousands watching them I am going to think about this in my bubble world now.

Me - Lol I shall not pop your Taejin bubble. Have fun xD

12 - Hey, I was wondering what exactly you meant when Taejin got physically involved with each other before labeling their relationship?? I’ve seen a few times on your blog and I was wondering what that meant.

Me - I meant they may have been friends with benefits before they decided to be exclusive- boyfriends/lovers. (Again please take this with a grain of salt, this is only my view/perspective based on what I’ve observed)

13 - Was rewatching BV3 and noticed something what do you think about this please tell-When V arrived in malta he was wearing a black tee and he also had no money to buy anything. When he went for the water skiing he wore 'I love malta' tee which was the same as jin and suga bought before. Since suga left maybe he gave his tee to V but considering how he had an emergency and V never went to the accomodation till night it doesnt seem plausible. Can it be jin who bought the tee for V and gave it to him? Secondly it always seems V and Jin keep in touch via texting during these shoots(jin knowing when V will arrive, V losing his bag, etc) why didnt just Jin let V know the room jinmin were sharing since even after discussing so much about it over lunch taejin even went together for the water ski so there must have been plenty chances. This pretty much makes me think the room arrangements are always scripted, What do you say?

Me - Never thought of that before. Could be? Yoon/jin could have given him the shirt to change into since he was going to do water activities. I don’t think it’s scripted (or maybe to a minor extent to keep the entertainment value) but the boys themselves choose not to interfere with the game?

14 - What are your thoughts about YoonJin? They really vibe well together imo. Ofc, I love Taejin; otherwise, I wouldn't be here. I was just wondering because I saw you say YoonJin had a special place in your heart on Curious Cat.

Me - Yoonjin’s soulmate-ry is something I related to on a personal level. Also because my MBTI type is the same as theirs, INTP. They silently but fiercely protect and appreciate each other. They love each other like old married couples do, I feel. A lot of trust, admiration, can easily fall back and rely on one another. They have a really good spiritual and mature connection? A very stable and compatible pair. And also love the fact that Yoongi becomes babier around Jin.

15 - "what are we going to do taehyung-ah? do you want me to tell them to interview you?" this is one of the softest taejin moments ever. seokjin wanted to cheer taehyung up so bad and he was willing to go to the interviewers and ask them to interview taehyung just so he could say the ment he prepared. he then proceeded to interview him himself just to make him smile and it worked and taehyung stopped sulking and seokjin had the sweetest smile and proudest face. he loves his taehyungie so much 😭

Me - And he has constantly been doing so throughout the years. It’s so soft, Jin is that sort of boyfriend who would jump through hoops to make sure Tae’s happy. I love them so much.

16 - seokjin asking taehyung to look pretty for the camera and tae doesnt want to at first but when seokjin counts down he does it with no second thoughts.. and seokjin's fond smile.. theyre in love

Me - They’re very in love. Also Tae said a lot so why was the sound muted when he was ‘arguing’ with Jin?

17 - something about the way taehyung called seokjin jwan 😭 he said it in such a soft way with the biggest smile and he is just the babiest at this point.. and the way he said that instead of boo because it sound like voo and he was so happy with his little joke PLEASE this was so so so cute and jwan is such a cute nickname

Me - Biggest baby with his puppy round eyes. If they ever go on vlive and start calling each other Voo and Jwan consider me dead.

18 - i love how seokjin always makes sure taehyung gets to say what he wanted to no matter what, and he does it so naturally.. he will urge him during interviews, during lives, etc, he will practice with him, hype him, pretend to interview him and will turn the whole world around just so taehyung will get to say his words. and he is so proud when he does.. i also love how taehyung practices with seokjin, he knows he is both rooting for him and pretty fluent in english. i love these moments so much 🥺

Me - Me too. They make sure they express how much they love and support each other no matter what and going the extra mile to show it. They’re so incredibly soft.

19 - i do believe taejin are dating at this point but even if theyre not theres no doubt in me that taehyung is head over hills in love with seokjin, and seokjin has the biggest soft spot ever for taehyung and his eyes are dripping with fondness. either way, taejin is beautiful.

Me - Either way, Taejin is so in love. Beautiful couple in and out.

20 - I do think BH treats taejin differently compared to other ships,but I feel the more they cut taejin scenes, the more obvious they’re making it. Yoongi can hold Tae’s belt but Jin can’t and the abrupt cut is way too obvious. I wonder how their editing goes like how they decide which scenes to include and all, it still amuses me how they cut off the scene where Jin was abt to hold Tae’s belt but included the scene where tae calls Jin husband, btw love ur work, stay happy and safe

21 - Before the Run ep got aired, i was like Tae would be happy cuz Jin is the teacher instead of being in opposite team. And i was right 😁 Even in behind the scenes, even when he's wrong, his smile never leaves and he keeps doing stuff to get Jin's attention. Who is also enjoying having his Tae in the front~ 🤭 This run ep was a treat to all senses really, especially with Jin being the handsome teacher we all want and their hilarious bickering like real students 🤭~ 😁

Me - Tae was happy to be looking straight at his teacher the entire class sitting in front hahaha. He was so eager and excited and they were all so cute. I lost it when Jin cheated him of the correct answer while they were making eye contact but he was still so happily bragging about it. “The teacher gave me the wrong answer while we flirted!! :DD”

22 - I've been wondering this question for a while, sorry if u already mentioned it, my memory's not great. Do you think Taejin will ever come out, like properly? They've been so domestic and confident in 2020. Don't you think, if anyone would bring change to the taboo around LGBT in Korea, it would be BTS? They're so big and influential now I feel like they could change things. Maybe I've got my head in the clouds, but … I hope so. One day.

Me - Their boldness and domesticity to me is because their relationship seems more or less stable, as compared to before. They’re happier now and it shows. BTS is big and influential and broke barriers and created history, but the sad fact is that they’re still very much subjected to xenophobia, racism and all sorts of prejudice. There will always be antis awaiting their downfall. Granted if there’s anyone to ‘break’ this taboo surrounding LGBT, it could be them, but probably not now? After winning the Grammys and after they hold another world tour maybe? Idk. Even if they don’t, they still have impacted and saved millions of lives across the world. Let’s see what the future holds for BTSARMY.

23 - Hi I'm new to this app. I recently discovered it from reading your analysis which I love by the way and decided to become a member of this app thanks to you. I had watched a taejin video concerning who's more possessive V or Jin? Personally could you please explain to me who do you think is the most possessive out of Taejin?

Me - Hi! I think both are equally so? Tae may be more obvious and direct about it while Jin is more subtle but both of them seem to be on the same page regarding this matter.

24 - Hi. I love your blog so much & i myself have no doubt that Taejin are in a relationship, but i am curious about when you first had suspicions towards Taejin, did you also observe all other BTS ships? Or did you just observe Taejin exclusively?

Me - When I saw that SMA hug in 2018 after watching Burn the Stage I thought something was off. I didn’t observe any particular pairings but I saw the popular pairing compilation and crack videos. Sope, Namjin, Taekook, Jikook, Vmin and Yoonjin? And HopexML. Didn’t watch Taejin at all.

Do you think Taejin is the only romantic ship in BTS? Or are there any other ships that you have suspicions of as well?

Me - Just Taejin. I am curious about Jikook but not curious enough to observe them closer.

Because i have some questions regarding Yoonmin, Jikook, & Sope. And since your bias is/was Yoongi, i wanted to hear your opinion on this since you always try to be as objective as possible. I've always thought all other BTS ships besides Taejin was platonic, but i can't be too sure about Yoonmin. I see Sope as best friends with extremely good chemistry, & eventhough i see tension & romantic potential btwn Jikook, for me Jikook seems like they haven't cross the platonic line yet. Jikook to me seems like either it's one-sided pining, mutual pining, or they are just friends who are extremely comfortable with flirting with eachother. But...i'm not too sure about Yoonmin? What are your thoughts about them? Have you ever been suspicious of them or you just don't feel there's anything to be suspicious about btwn them? How would you describe Yoonmin's relationship?

Me - I agree with you that Sope is 100% platonic best friends with amazing chemistry.

Jikook confuses me a lot. When I think about lack of boundaries, I think Vmin, Jinkook and Taekook. These are platonic-lack-of-boundaries pairs. Jikook is kind of one level above this category? They’re very free and don’t restrict themselves but they also don’t have that “nervousness” or “awkwardness” like Taejin does. I don’t know where they belong. Rather than being comfortable with flirting, it’s like flirting is their “default” mode? Yeah I don’t know, it’s confusing. I have never been suspicious of Yoonmin… don’t think there’s anything suspicious between them? They tease each other a lot?

Another question (i'm so sorry), what are your thoughts about Jungkook? To me i find him the hardest to understand since he's not my bias & because he's just so talented in almost anything he does that it makes me unable to relate to him at all. His behavior towards Jin, Jimin & Taehyung makes me go ???????? sometimes because they are pretty questionable. Like... it's impossible for him to harbour some sort of feelings towards all of his three hyungs right???? So my head just hurts sometimes thinking what Jungkook is doing. His tattoos; with purple heart & crown near "V", "J" being on his ring finger and yet "JM" is also near his ring finger, him eating the ramen Taehyung spat out during eatJin, him kissing Jin's ankle (though he maybe did it just as a joke), his whole GCF in Tokyo with Jimin....i could go on and on about the weird things Jungkook does. Jungkook is absolutely bizarre to me & I have no idea how his brain works.

Me - If you say it like that, then I’ll have to say he’s “questionable” towards all of his hyungs. Take the tattoo out of this equation, his tattoo is meant for BTSARMY. JK is probably the one and only one who has zero boundaries with all his hyungs? Because he’s their baby, all of them. Don't forget that he's lived with them since he was 15. I don't think he's bizarre at all, it's just the way he's extremely comfortable around all of them. As an elaboration of my opinion above, the fact that JK seeks out Jimin and spends their time a lot together off camera is special to Jikook in the way Taejin is special because you can see Tae wants to "EatJin". They're impossibly close, in many aspects. Again, I'm going to emphasise that this does not mean I'm implying Jikook is exclusively romantic. They have a special bond, I don’t know what it could be, they confuse me but I think that the amount of time they spend together, not just as BTS is special.

I apologise for sending this type of ask here instead of your Tumblr but because your Tumblr is a Taejin centric blog i didn't know if it would be appropriate to ask there so i sent it here instead. If possible i would love to hear your opinion on this. Sorry for such a lengthy ask, but if you're unable to answer this i totally understand as well. It's just that you're one of those few people in the fandom that i really trust with having a clear thought since you observe BTS dynamic as a whole.

Me - I'm just an anon ranting about Taejin here 😅 ... Errr, there's no rule you need to ship anyone? We're here for BTS and their music after all. YouTube analysis videos mess with my brain more than anything, I'd rather watch the actual video. Otherwise it's totally cool to casually ship any pairings you like. If I wasn't into Taejin I'd probably casually be into Yoonjin and Jinkook.

26 - Hello! In response to anon's ask about JK's influence on Taejin's relationship, I think despite all of them alr being in their 20s, Jk will always be treated as the maknae by Jin and Tae (and other members). Both will coddle him and give him a free pass for many things simply because he is their "baby" brother. I think because of JK's maknae status and Taejin's innate affection for him, taejin aren't opposed to showing PDA with him (and in front of each other no less). I think Tae is less jealous about Jinkook PDA as compared to Namjin or any other pairing. Similarly, beside with Tae, Jin doesn't seem that outwardly affectionate (e.g. back hugs) to other members except Jk. In defence of taekook's friendship, I don't think they are "not close" but their friendship is certainly different. Older members like Tae might not confide about their troubles and inner thoughts with Jk simply because he has less life experiences and seemingly less wise. Their relationship is probably less deep, but they get along v well on more light hearted things and that's great as well.

Sorry my comment is so damn long, but I guess this brings me the point where Taejin's relationship is definitely not brotherly especially when Jin treats Tae so differently/partially compared to the other dongsaengs. If Tae was just a brother figure to Jin like the others, putting myself in the shoes of say Jimin and Jk, I would feel quite jealous and upset that Jin showers Tae with much more attention and affection.

Me - I think you explained it really nicely 😄 thank you! Also because JK has been through a lot and matured so much faster than his peers did at a young age, his hyungs would want to ensure that he’s taken care of and loved at all times instead of unloading their worries on him.

27 - I am a new taejinnie and I was reading your blog in the past few days, I have to say the amount of info is a bit overwhelming even if you do make a really good job at posting stuff in chronological order, so it becomes truly helpful. But I have seen a bit of misinformation by you, and many other taejinnies have done it in the past, which is a bit concerning to me. I am not going to name all of them, but I am curious about one in particular, tae's wallpaper in that paris vhope vlive. Why do you say with such conviction that it's Jin in the photo? Other shippers claim to be someone else and I even saw others saying that it's tae himself. I see no resemblance to the jin photo by naver, since jin's sleeve is much looser and the person in tae's pic seems to be holding smth like a camera and also has a watch on his wrist. I have noticed that taejinnies tend to hype some moments that we don't have proof of and get spread around but then are proven to be wrong. Some of those are the blanket kick "kiss", the "saranghe" from the so what moment, the bon voyage "matching" tattoos, this jin wallpaper, to name just a few. I don't like us to be like taekookers, so I'd love to only take into account the things that are solid proof and not stuff we wish for it to be there. Maybe some would say that this is not that deep and I shouldn't take it so seriously, but if we are to say that taejin really are a hidden gay couple, then we need to back this up with info that can be proven and not just by our wishful thinking.

Me - I’ll be honest, your message rubs me off the wrong way. I do not care what other shippers say or think, if you have watched the VHope vlive and think it’s not true, that’s fine. If you haven’t watched it, please do so and form your own conclusions. I do not assert that my opinion is correct, and I have said plenty of times to take my content with a large pinch of salt, read at your own discretion. This is a blog where I free my thoughts and fangirl Taejin and put up some topics for discussion. Not a place for people to verify facts about Taejin. Tae’s wallpaper in Vhope’s vlive has a strong resemblance to Jin in the White Day photoshoot by Dispatch, but it is likely not a photo taken by Dispatch but his own camera phone. In other words it’s his own photo of Jin in that same setting during the actual photoshoot.

28 - One of the moments which made me a taejininie was the ending of dimple at 5th muster magic shop but after watching the performances of all 4 days I realised that moment may be a fanservice as it was enacted on 2nd day of both busan and seoul. Also if you follow jin's fancam on seoul 2nd day as the lights went out he winked at tae which might indicate this was all planned maybe? My bubble has burst. Help me!!!😭😭😭😭😭

Me - I think perhaps you should look more into their stage and concert performances and concert DVDs to have a better understanding of their bold and loud moments on stage. At one glance, any of their on stage moments can look like mere fanservice. This is one thing I find difficult to explain, it’s easier once you have a better grasp of their dynamics on and off stage. Take a look at my So What post, that might help. If you’ve observed Taejin enough you’ll know they don’t do stuff just to please others.

29 - I want to say something to taejinnies who keep worrying about them, so this won't be an ask, but my pov.

So a while back I used to get really insecure about them whenever they had their more quiet moments. But actually, there's something that most of us have noticed and it's very important when talking about taejin as a couple: that we rarely have "in-between" moments, it's mostly just hot or cold with them. And you talked about it too before, but I just think we need to repeat this thing to taejinnies who lose faith, at least once in a while. There's a reason taejin was the first ship, but also a reason why other armys really can't see them. It's always tkk, vmin, jinkook and lately vhope, but it's always been taejin. If armys would pay attention to the important things, taejin would definitely stand out. From singing a love ost together, to always being side by side behind the scenes, sharing the two seats of a couch or riding a bus, always together, sometimes even stuck shoulder to shoulder. They don't need to do loud things to prove anything to anyone, it should be obvious by now how biased they are for each other. If this doesn't prove that they're romantically involved, it at least proves that they are the closest members in bts. They've been so constant during all these years, basically the only bts ship to actually be this visibly close, but annoyingly for us, invisible to others, for some weird reason. Why do you guys think that most of the questionable thing tae has done are with jin? And how come Jin is soft only with tae, out of all the boys in the group? He compares him with flowers, his touches are gentle, his eyes speak volumes. Tae on the other hand takes care of Jin like he does no other, he loses the formalities with jin the most, and he doesn't shy away to always declare his fondness and love for jin. I have no idea why all this just evaporates whenever taejin become more quiet, but it should be logical to every taejinnie that if these things have lasted for 8+ years, they will last even more. They're at the age where friendships and bonds don't break that easily.

So please trust our taejin and don't expect them to always have moments just to please us, and please don't go around saying that taejin "broke up". At the end of the day, I trust that their bond is forever.

Me - I agree with you so much :) there are so many loud and subtle moments caught on camera but we forget that we don’t see the “in between” or them just alone together being themselves. There is just so much more to them that we haven’t seen and don’t know about. Yet time and time again, they have always shown how tight knit they really are. I trust that their bond is forever too.

30 - To this day, I cannot convince myself that the Burn The Stage fight was just that. They were not arguing over the choreography, no. The choreography seemed to trivial of a reason for what happened and what was said. There had to be more to it, some context from the past. It seemed like a bottle up over a long period which then poured out with the choreography as an excuse. Not to forget, the clip was, of course, edited. I am also not convinced that the "make-up" they had on camera was it. They probably talked for sometime by themselves later and may or may not have taken sometime to get back to their regular dynamics. I also feel that Jimin came to retrieve them because he knew or at lease felt like their was more to this fiasco and did not want things to be said on camera.

Rammstein radio interview Paul Landers 1997 - English translation

Gave the english translation a shot, as good and bad as I could make it out (if someone has corrections, please let me know). Paul is really on a roll in this interview and basically keeps on talking, sometimes rambling so far he has to backtrack to finish his story. I decided to keep the rambling part in, because it's actually part of the fun of hearing him talking 😊 (at the end are some footnotes with the translation).

Voiceover: Rammstein, at the latest since this year not an insidertip anymore. Stefan Rieger has portrayed the group and interviewed one of the two guitarists, Paul.

Paul: Calling ourselves Rammstein was nonsense really, it was a bit like a nickname, like when someone is nicknamed 'Dummy' *1) and no one knows why he is called 'Dummy' but everybody calls him 'Dummy', you know *2) someone will ask "Why are you called 'Dummy'?" It just got stuck like that, 'Rammstein'. And then we considered what to call ourselves: 'Milk' or 'Weir', 'Forest' but it all didn't sound quite right. 'Rammstein' just stuck. It had to do with a. that, b. with the force of the disaster itself, then with the force of the double 'm', then it had to do with the sound and also we think it describes the music really well.

VO: The Rammstein bandmembers are no novices in the musicbusiness. Most of them have been involved in various projects for years. Paul and Flake played for 12 years with east-berlin cult-group 'Feeling B'

P: We all had a band, every man for himself, a couple of guys played with 'Feeling B' and the bassplayer played with 'The Inchtabokatables' etcetera etcetera and parallel to these bands we fooled around in the basement and called that 'Rammstein'. That was like a sideproject. And after a while..eh..the individual bands broke up and we just did this sideproject which then wasn't a sideproject anymore and that was Rammstein. That's how it started and the first concert we ever played was at the NaTo to 15 people *3), and Till wore two sunglasses, no fireworks was set off, so it was quite peaceful, we wore black turtleneck sweaters.

VO: To 'The Inchtabokatables' singer B.Breuler Rammstein's succes is no coincidence.

B. Breuler: Good music, which uses german language and an interesting way of using their stuff with elements that weren't covered in the previous bands. Who else did those sampled guitars in german music, that is relatively new..

VO: Musical influences on Rammstein

P: I like no *4) music at all, Till likes dark, Flake listens to, he only has one cassettetape which has Johnny Cash on it, Schneider listens to Techno, Oliver listens to Industrial, the bassplayer, and Sven listens to whatever is new, that's all of us. Well all of us don't really have rolemodels, we just have rolemodels like 'Pantera', well not really rolemodels, we like them. I like music, no matter from which direction, it has to be individual. Last ones that were individual were 'Metallica', 'Pantera' and 'Prodigy' and such, the individual bands I know personally, apart from that there is some more stuff that's hot but not as groundbreaking. We are not really groundbreaking either, but there is some... I like it when music is individual, no matter where it's from. All of it influences us technically, or none of it.

VO: The Rammstein boom has reached unexpected dimensions. The in september 1995 published CD 'Herzeleid' is19th in the german salescharts. The single 'Engel' is 4th in the singlecharts and concerts are usually sold out.

P: Well no one believes us, and you don't believe it yourself, that it wasn't planned, that is, we did have a concept, but we didn't expect..we didn't want fame and we didn't want to be rich and we also didn't want in 'Bravo' *5), that is, we just wanted, or I wanted just to annoy, that was our main concern, fun at annoying people and nothing more. With 'Feeling B' everything always had to be fun, we just wanted to be wellbehaved and stuff, now we didn't want to behave, wanted to cause a little trouble, basically we did the opposite of what you should do to be succesful. We have really disgusting evil guitars, distorted, and played really slow, and did really disgusting lyrics which get to you, and then suddenly everyone think it is good. It's like you spit in a corner or Joseph Beuys *6) shits in a corner and everyone thinks it is good, that is, he probably also thought "Are these people crap?" that is, not that the people are shit, well maybe they are, but not because of this...ehm... I like that something that is really totally extreme...in the beginning we wanted to be just extreme, and now we have a nice succes with it, not that we mind that now or something...what I think is funny, was something I read today in a newspaper "The most hyped german band", well basically we are the exact opposite, that is, we are the most blocked german band, unfortunately nobody hyped us, MTV cancelled us immediately after we made a little stink there, Viva one time said "You shit band won't come to us", the magazine called 'Musik Expresse' didn't want to publish us, so unfortunately nobody hyped us. Just by simply blunt, dull being there we have achieved succes, but with succes comes pressure, when I think in hindsight where that comes from..from other directions, from directions you can't plan, that you can't... eh.. decide on yourself, that is, when you say "I want a pretty woman, who is clever, has a car and a spotted dog and so on".. you can't decide on that, you just have to wait who comes along.. A tip I can give to someone who wants to be famous, just choose music that is totally 'Out' and then persevere for 7 years...so totally..like 'Easy listening' or such, when you play 'Schlager' for 15 years, it will be modern again..

VO: Impossible to imagine Rammstein without the german lyrics, with extreme-sounding content that has led to excitement in some media that have only now discovered the group. That however has hardly damaged Rammstein. Another effect of the german lyrics is that fans can sing along with the songs in concerts. The seaman-song *7), for instance, the singer leaves to the audience almost completely, to that the keyboarder sways in a dinghy over the heads of the crowd, carried by many hands.

P: 'Seeman', for instance, was a joke, we were fooling around in the rehearsalroom and the bassplayer used this grip 'die-die-die die-die' and so on, and then Till in a pitiful way 'Come in my boat..' *8) and we all kneeled in the rehearsalroom, it was a gag, and then we played it three times and all thought it was good and then we thought "my god, the effect is so shit, let's just do it", so we are funny enough to just do it. With 'Feeling B', for instance, we weren't allowed to do funny stuff like that, that is, stuff that is actually embarassing, we weren't allowed to. The embarassing thing to go through the crowd with the dinghy is actually something people like, a bit like a circusact, 'Rock circus Rammstein invites', we did it one time, all yelled, we didn't know that.

VO: In the american movie 'Lost Highway' by David Lynch two Rammstein songs are used at key points. In connection to the movie, the mystical atmosphere of the songs particularly come to fruition.

P: At the time we wanted to shoot our first songs we sent a CD to all directors we liked for the musicvideo, and not video-directors but movie-directors, at which no one replied, and then, 3/4 year later a call came "Hello, this is.." in english that is "this is the productioncompany of David Lynch, for our next movie 'Lost highway' *9) we want to use 2 of your songs". Well, we thought "Nah, we don't want that, no, nope" then we said well why not and now it's like, how can I explain, it's like when you have a painting that no one knows, you think someone just made a little doodle on it and then people say "Ah no, that's a Picasso..", "Oh, so that's a *Picasso*, that's really great", you know? The same thing happens with us, which we think is funny, that Rammstein now means something because David Lynch likes it. And the importance that is created because of that, I think..well I don't understand it...to me it's like this...whoever makes somewhat interesting music that is individual, yes...eh..then something happens because of it, you know, that is, if I were an american I would like Rammstein too, because..at last something non-american, you know? They are happy because usually when someone comes over from Europe, it's always a band of which they have a better original at home, you know? In Europe you see few bands, well few individual bands, that is, when I go to Poland I would like to have a polish refrain in my metal song, and when I go to Russia, I want a distorted Balalaika or something, you know, I want to hear individual music and almost no one does that, and when someone does it.. *10)

VO: Current Rammstein single 'Engel' is the first extract from the CD 'Sehnsucht' which is due to be published in August. The part of the angel is performed by Bobo who came to fame with her band 'Bobo in White Wooden Houses'. Bobo's voice comes to fruition in the spherical and slightly melancholical content of the song.

P: Bobo is quite simply a friend of ours and ehm.. she was actually only intended to sing along to a few refrains, softly in the background and when she was warbling around in the studio we got the idea, let's, and before Till sang that part, do "Only when the clouds go to sleep, one can see them in the sky, they are afraid and are alone, God knows I don't want to be an angel" *11) we said "Bobo, why don't you sing 'Only when the clouds go to sleep, one can see *us* in the sky'" and so on, and she did, and she thought it was shit, said "No, I can't sing as sweet as that", because normally she sings..she sings more artistic and not that 'schlager'-like, you know, "Come on, sing really 'schlager' like a little angel" and she didn't want that either, that is, she didn't and most of the band didn't want it either, nobody wanted it, you know, nobody really liked it, we thought, because it sounded really silly *12) and then we thought "crap, let's leave it out" and then we put the part on mute, and then we thought "hmm", it was a bit like a cloud in front of the sun, it isn't as nice anymore, so we put the cloud away again and then it was nice again and then we simply kept it that way.

*1) Paul uses the word 'Borstel' which can have more meanings, but in this case he is making a comparison with someone having a silly fictional nickname, so I went with 'Dummy'

*2) one of his often used Berliner expressions is 'Weeste', in official german this would be 'Weist du'; I translated it with 'you know'.

@chassycat-original It’s not that it isn’t possible , but I do think that it is a slightly different situation here. I'm by no means an expert on Supernatural, I mostly know it through general slash fandom cultural osmosi, but my impression is: .

As flimsy as compared to years and years of canon it might be, Destiel does have at least that one concrete scene where a third party character taunts Dean that Castiel is in love with him. So they have opened the door to there being a romantic element. Stories have started on lamer sparks (like parallel universe evil gay vampire Willow)

this supposedly is from the script:

(I think the can’t reciprocate is the bit that sounds suggestive, if this was just a friend I Love You, why should it be a big deal to say it back?)

My personal, fairly uninformed guess on the situation is this: so they came up with the idea of Castiel. They had an idea for an arc for him and then he was supposed to leave.

But he was popular, so they kept him around, but he was aimless for a long time (again, we are not talking a season or two, we are talking 10 seasons!).

And they decided already a while ago that Dean was going to be the main character Cas is linked to and the reason why (in universe) Cas is staying around.

And then for the end of the show they decided that Castiel's motivation is that he loves Dean (or that they are going to expand on the love that was already the motivatino).

Again, keep in mind that I haven't followed SPN like, ever, closely, and I haven't read a writer interview from them in my life, so I'm just going on stereotype of how such things usually go. I could pictuer that maybe if you pressed them they might say something like "Cas loves Dean and it's sort of romantic, but it's kind of angel romantic, which is about half human romantic" and "Dean cares a lot about Castiel, Castiel means a lot to Dean". (if I'm totally off base and there are writer interviews where they say something else and more concrete, please link me)

For what it is worth, I do think that this can be argued to be an instance of the infamous queerbaiting, regardless of how the relationship ends up being defined, regardless of whether Destiel end up romantically, ambiguously romantically, confirmed one sided romantic or just generally ambiguous (or even confirmed "no homo").

The base line is that they set up a heavily ambigous scene, right as the show is about to end. And all those youtube videos show it pretty clearly, it's many people saying "I haven't watched Supernatural in years, but I saw it was trending, so I checked out the episode and I now will watch those remaining episodes like a hawk to see whether they follow up on it or screw it up".

So they are using the ambiguousness of the situation to drum up interest in their series finale.

Okay, let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are not using it, they just wanted to tell the story that makes the most sense of the characters in the last few episodes.

They are still really heavily benefitting from this. So the very least they could do would be do a press release where they were clearly state what their intentions are (would be even better is to announce it beforehand that it was coming). Because otherwise it will always come across like a stunt to get attention and ratings by keeping people guessing, rather than something genuine on their side. (yes, a press release or big tv magazine interview is always going to have a lot less reach than the episode itself, but if they did it like that, one could at least say they tried their best not to present it as a “gotcha!” moment)

Why does it smell bait-y to me (again: not an expert, based on what how I have read queerbaiting described)? If they had made it clearly platonic rather than ambiguous then people wouldn’t have this motivation that they need to keep watching to see if there is follow up. Similarly, if they had made it non ambigous, like if they had thrown a romantic kiss in there, then any people who do have a problem with it might have a reason to drop out and not watch the last few episodes because they dislike the direction of the show (even if one takes position that the I Love You is unambiguous, Castiel gets removed from the story instantly. if they had shared a kiss and then Cas disappears, Dean in this scenario would still be unambigously mlm and his story would continue). By keeping it ambiguous they are optimizing their hypothetical viewership for the last few episodes. And the critique of queerbaiting is that that is pretty immoral. Either you jerk people along when you have no intention of delivering or you keep a story restrained in order to maximize your viewership appeal with hypothetical homophobes.

There’s also another aspect. Let's talk about this as a hypothetical best case scenario for Destiel.

Episode 1: Castiel declares his love for Dean and gets disappeared into The Empty

Episode 2: A stunned Dean cries to Sam "OMG, Castiel told me he loves me, I'm heartbroken, I don't know what to do with myself, I should have said it back"

Episode 3: They fight the big bad, suddenly Castiel emerges from The Empty, they beat the bad guys together and Dean throws himself at Castiel and they share a hefty tongue kiss before riding off into the sunset together

Supernatural is a show that has had 15 seasons. FIFTEEN! And Castiel has been around since season 4!

Look I would never begrudge the fans if they were happy over that hypothetical 3 episode best case scenario. I get it. But as an outsider, I can't help but think: really? You had so many seasons to give Castiel an actual mlm storyline and you didn't? Let's say you decided only recently you were going to do that recently. You could still have had this in the first episode of the last season rather than in the almost the last.

For what it's worth, I have NEVER bought into the idea that the CW is just that homophobic that they forbid a storyline like that. We can all see that the CW is absolutely chill with wlw pairings left and right, including pairings for lead characters (Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow).

I agree that the case is slightly more sketchy for mlm pairings. Though I do think that it is worth noting that they apparently were okay for it for both Captain Cold and Constantine on Legends of Tomorrow). I get that maybe the situation is different for SPN, since SPN was one of their steadiest performers and anchor to their schedule for a long time while Legends is like this cooky little show with barely any ratings or attention. AND Legends is an ensemble piece where maybe it's easier to sell making one of their characters mlm. (for what it is worth, I have never read a single interview about Legends that suggested that it was any sort of big deal or fight to be allowed to make Leo and Constantine on screen gay).

So yes, it is not completely impossible that the CW is homophobic in this really thin slice (mlm characters, but only on their main male dominated steady rating show), but I can’t help but being skeptical when this accusation has been thrown around so many times in situation when it clearly didn’t make any sense. (their long list of wlw characters proves they have no problem with adding wlw characters, Legends and Batwoman prove they have no problem supporting shows with wlw leads, The 100 and Sara Lance show they have no problem adding it retroactively to characters who were intially planned or perceived to be straight)

Constantine they couldn’t or wouldn’t show as bisexual when he was still on NBC, he had to come to the CW for that. Alex Danvers couldn’t or wouldn’t be shown as a lesbian when the show was still on CBS, she had to come to the CW for that. I think CW has shown over and over and over again that it provides a home for gay characters, I think people don’t give them enough credit if they so easily act like it’s obvious they must be the badguy as not their writers or showrunners who maybe just have a different vision or were themselves the ones too afraid to ask the network or were themselves the ones who had those audience concerns without the network ever expressing any opinion on it.

It had been a few days now since me and the football team started practicing for our halftime performance on the Kickoff Day.

"And... POSE!" I exclaimed as the music stopped and we held our final pose for a few seconds. I examine each of their poses through the mirror in front of me.

I grinned feeling contented, "Great job guys! Let's take a break first."

The boys scrambled into different places as I plopped down on the floor on the side. I rummaged through my bag and gulped down from my water tumbler. A knock from the door before Zoey's smiling face showed up.

"Hey guys! Who wants some pizza?" That got an immediate response from the boys as they crowd Zoey with enthusiastic cheers.

A few minutes later, Zoey sat beside me two pizzas in her plate and handed me the other, "You've been working hard Bea. Eat up." She grinned making me smile in return as I look at her.

"Thanks for the treat Zo. You're officially my dream girl."

Zoey giggled. "It's just your hunger talking Bea."

"Don't care, you just know how to take care of me."

A smirk ghosted on her lips and her eyes gleamed, "What can I do you certainly are my dream girl too. You really are stepping up towards Poppy huh."

I shrugged my shoulders and swallowed a bite of pizza, "Someone just needs to remind her what it is like to not be on top."

"Are you starting to see why I hate her?"

I drunk a water first before I looked at Zoey, "Hate is a strong word you know, but she does annoys me." Memories of my last encounter with Poppy flashed in my mind. The way we sassed each other out, and how she successfully get through me.

Zoey chuckled, "She is annoying, but you haven't explained to me this plan of yours," She gestured on the boys and me, "performing with the football team on the halftime show huh." She smirked, "Way to steal the spotlight."

I smirked too, "Zo she annoyed me too much last time let her have a taste of her own medicine."

A proud look flashed in Zoey eyes making me feel all warm inside, "I'm glad you understand me Bea." Her smiles turned into something soft.

"Of course Zoey. You're my best friend."

"You know at first I thought you'll start to develop a crush on her which will be bad news. That girl has no heart at all." She reached out and held my free hand, "I don't want you to get hurt."

I gasped, "Me? Having a crush on her? Fat chance Zo. Besides I rather have a crush on you." I wriggled my eyebrows playfully.

Zoey withdrew her hand from me and gently pushed me giggling, "Careful with all the jokes I might believe you."

I smiled at her and looked at her in the eyes, "You don't have to worry about me getting hurt Zo."

"Can't help not to look out for my best friend, you know."

"And for that I am lucky to have you."

It was finally the Kickoff Day. I just had an interesting time with Ina a while ago. Helping her out from that Lexi girl was totally unexpected, but I'm glad to had a chance to hang out with her today. It was refreshing compared to the stress I faced when I found out someone sabotaged my throne - that was definitely Poppy's dirty games. It was Zoey who saved me again from trouble. Who would had thought me and the football team would be performing with Jaylen Riaz at the end.

I threw a kiss on the camera before me and the team strike a pose as the music ended. The crowd gave us a standing ovation and loud cheers erupted from them. Not even a few minutes when Poppy erupted, "No! NO! NOOO!!! Everyone shut uppp! This is all some sick joke!"

The crowd hushed. Carter walked towards her a wide grin on his face, "Babe have you seen the performance? I worked hard on my dancing--"

Poppy interrupted him bursting out, "How dare you help her out? Are you really that stupid?! We're officially over."

Gasps erupted while Carter stumbled with his words, "Wh... huh?"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING! KICKOFF DAY IS MINE!" Poppy yelled.

I sighed, "Poppy aren't you tired yet?"

"Bea Hughes! I don't know what tricks you've been playing, but I will ruin you." She hissed before lunging at me, but the entire football team grabbed her. The crowd gasped and started to booed at her. I watched ad Poppy stomped her feet and left the scene still raging. The crowd started chanting my name, but all I can feel was the hole in my chest as my gaze locked on Poppy's retrieving figure.

"Hey are you okay?" Zoey's voice brought me back to the noise of people chanting my name.

I looked at her and smiled, "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

"That's what I thought too." Zoey grinned. "This calls for a celebration!" She exclaimed.

I beamed, "We talking pizzas? Sangrias? Oooh, spa trip?"

"And more. Not to forget watching videos of Poppy's meltdown."

I tried not to grimaced," Maybe we should get going now to get the celebratory starting."

"I like that." Zoey smiled linking her arm on mine and dragging me.

When we got out of the stadium we came face to face to the raging storm, named Poppy. She was surrounded by Alphas and Zetas as she shrieked.

"Why do you think I keep you Trish? I told you to do everything possible to make sure I beat Bea Hughes."

"What else should I do? Chloe and Trixie already made sure to sabotaged Bea's throne." Taylor reasoned out.

"Are you really that stupid? Do you need to be told every single thing before you do something?" Poppy yelled.

"Woah chill out Poppy." Luis spoke.

Poppy's eyes found me from the couple of people around us and her face grew a different shade of red.

"Right just in time for you Trish! Here's your hero. Why don't you kiss her ass just like what you all been doing today!"

I calmly look at her, "Poppy calm down. Take a breath. You don't want to do this to your image. Just walk away."

"Oh here we go again. Playing like a saint and sucking up to the football team."

"I put on a performance Poppy. You know just like what you did before me." I said as a matter of fact.

"Do you think I am as stupid as these idiots? You only performed because I did."

"And? What's the problem with that?"

"The problem is seeing your cheap face where ever I go."

I scoffed fighting the smirk that was threatening to spill and the words that wanted to come out from my lips. Is that a problem? Am I starting to live in your mind - rent free- Ms. Min-Sinclair?

All thoughts left my mind as my eyes momentarily grew wide when Poppy lunged at me, but the boys grabbed her.

"Yo. It's just a dance Poppy. You're crazy." Erik said and that was the start of the mob throwing insults towards her.

I frowned. "Leave her alone. She's already gone through enough."

She glared at me, "Oh cute. Saint Bea emerges again. Excuse me while I go hurl." She pushes everyone on her way as she left.

Zoey suddenly whispered, "Hey I think I know what's our next plan will be. That assistant of Poppy is the plan."

"Huh? Okay..." I mumbled while I stare at Poppy's retrieving figure.

Zoey bumped my shoulders lightly, "Bea are you really okay? You're quite spacing out."

"Me?" I paused gathering myself together. "Yeah I guess I'm just tired."

Zoey looked at me worriedly, "Okay should we head back to our dorm?"

I smiled a little, "I think I'll want to walk around for a while Zo. Take a breather."

"Okay. Call me when you're about to go home. I'll prepare our mini celebration." She grinned.

"Thanks Zo. You're the best." I gave her a hug before strolling my way away from people.

Million thoughts were running on my mind as I stroll around the campus, but it all led to one person in the end, that Poppy. I should be happy. I annoyed her back. In fact i got into her skin so bad she was lashing out, but my emotions were a jumbled mess.

I round the corner in the Law building. A place I'm not really familiar with. I think it was my first time rounding up in this area of the school. I can't even spot any student anymore. It felt peaceful and not suffocating after hours of being surrounded by cheers and people.

I halted in my step when I arrived at the lobby of the building. Several plastic bench chairs are lined in the center. That was when I noticed the lone figure sitting at the back row. She had a blonde hair and wore a pink jacket. Poppy?

I tried to ignore the loud thumping of my heart when I mentioned her name on my mind and focus on walking closely towards her.

"Poppy?" I spoke once I was standing beside her.

Her head was bowed a little, and her hair was hiding her face from my view. She remained silent.

I decided to speak again, "Is that you?"

Our surrounding was so quiet that it made me heard her quiet sniffles. I watched her hands flew to her face, probably wiping her face. My eyes grew wide in realization. Was she crying?

Her eyes were red and puffy when she looked at me and glared, "You're still not finish ruining this day Farmsville?" Her voice sounded hoarse.

I felt something inside of me break seeing her like this. I clenched my jaw, trying to bury the hundreds of emotions that swarmed my heart.

"I am not here to fight with you. I just happen to pass by the area."

"Right. Just like the last time." She mumbled.

"May I sit beside you?"

She threw me a glare, "As if you'll listen if I say no."

I gave her a small smile, "I wouldn't bother asking if I'll only do what I want."

Her gaze never faltered, scrutinizing me, "Fine. Sit."

I sat on the bench maintaining a safe distance from her. She doesn't talk and so was I, but I was dying to talk to her. To apologize, to ask anything to make her feel better - maybe I can give her a hug? I tried to erase that thought and bury that urge as I started fidgeting with my hands on my lap.

Poppy's voice cut the silence, "Talk Hughes."

I looked at her, my eyes wandering on her side profile. Her brown eyes gleaming with unshed tears, her cheeks slightly wet with tears, her pointed nose, her fair skin, and her lips that were pouting. She wanted me to talk, but I felt like I can’t find my voice. Seeing her, this close - my ears were buzzing with the humming beat of my heart.

She turned her face and our eyes met. She raised an eyebrow, "What now?"

I gulped thickly. You're beautiful. I shook my head, "Sorry. I just didn't know what to say."

Poppy scoffed. "Stop pitying me."

I frowned, " I am not."

She crossed her arms in front of her chest, "Really?"

"Look, I have my conscience. I feel guilty on how today went for you. I feel like my actions had domino effects and you're the one who caught all the bad stuff."

"Feelings are a sign of weakness and here you are telling that to me? Your enemy." She held my gaze an unreadable expression flashed her eyes.

"Enemy?" I raised an eyebrow. "Funny. I don't consider you as something like that."

"Stop lying. We've been arguing and fighting ever since you came here, and yet I am not your enemy? Are you dumb?"

I chuckled, "You attacked me for no reason Poppy. That's why I annoyed you for no reason too."

"Excuse me? You're aiming for my throne and I can't let you have that."

I sighed, "In reality I don't care about the throne. I am just curious as to why you hung to that number 1 spot like your life depends on it."

"And what if my life really depends on it?"

I shook my head, a little sad at how Poppy said those words, "Then that's sad."

"What?" She asked annoyed.

"I said what i said. You're not always gonna be number 1 Poppy. That's just how life works."

"You're wrong Hughes. I am a Min-Sinclair anything below number 1 means I lost, and I don't lose."

I stared at her my eyes started to wander again on her face, and then I saw something I had never seen before. On the upper left of her forehead there was a small scar. Unconsciously my hand reached out for it. Poppy slapped my hand bringing me back to the present. Ouch that sting. She was glaring at me, a flash of anger in her eyes. I'm used to angry Poppy, but her eyes right now spoke a hundred emotions of anger that made me shiver.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." I spoke in a hurry sensing I stepped on a sensitive topic.

"Don't you ever mention that to anyone." Her voice sounded colder this time.

"Okay, but where-"

"And don't you dare ask me about it. Again."

I nodded, "Alright. I'm sorry again."

She stood up, her glare not wavering, "My patience had wore off. I'll be leaving Hughes." She didn't wait for my response and started to walk away.

"Wait Poppy..." My lips worked, words already out of my mouth before I can even think what I was doing.

She halted in her steps which I was surprised. Poppy looked back at me, eyebrow raised waiting for what I was going to say.

But truth was I don't have anything to say. All I had was jumbled emotions and a struggling phrase that rose into my mind, but I fought back for it not to be said out loud.

I want to talk to you more. Instead I said the words, "Never mind."

Poppy groaned, "You're annoying Hughes." Before she sauntered away from my sight.

Lose you(Spencer Reid x F!Reader)

While on a case of missing preteen girls.

What will the BAU team do when one of there own is taken hostage.

*Disclaimer*

I have not written creatively in years just had an idea and decided to go with it. I do not know if any of this is accurate medically or physically but I was having fun and didn't fact check. Hope you enjoy.

*Warnings*

Includes: violence, kidnapping, implied sexual assault, pregnancy, miscarriage, torture, angst with a happy ending.

Garcia has an incoming call from Y/N.

"Hello gorgeous, what can I do for you? "

The sound she is met with is not the sing song voice of her friend, but the sound of screeching tires, scraping metal, a loud roar, followed by a louder boom. The sound causes Garcia to freeze in fear.

"Y/N?!!", Garcia yells. "Y/N?!, JJ?!"

Garcia picks up her other phone to call Hotch.

"Hotch, you need to get to Y/N and JJ I think there were in an accident, I'm sending you there coordinates now. Hurry!"

Before the call to Garcia placed.

"Don't you two want kids?", JJ asked. Y/N and JJ were heading back to the precinct after going to question a potential witness to find the unsub. All the while JJ felt that now was the time to question Y/N and Reid's baby plans.

"Of course we do JJ, we're not trying, but we're not not trying ya know." Y/N says a little exasperated."I took a test a few weeks ago because I thought maybe and it was negative, but I don't want to bring it up to Spence and get his hopes up until I know for sure."

Before JJ can respond Y/N sees a large truck heading straight at them. She makes a split second decision, she prompts siri to call Garcia at the same time she puts an arm out in from off JJ slams on the breaks and swerves. She's hears the sound of screeching tires, scraping metal, a loud roar, followed by a louder boom and everything goes dark.

When the rest of the team arrives in the scene shocked isn't even a word that can describe what there are taking in. From first looks they can't imagine how anyone would have survived in the SUV. The first thing they notice is the entire back end is gone, crushed and pulverized. The second thing they notice is the other vehicle is no where to be found, but there are a 2 sets of tire tracks one coming and the other going. When they see the front end they only see JJ in the car she is unconscious and bleeding. They get the medic over to look at her. While they take care of JJ the team is now on the hunt for Y/N. There is no sign that she could have been ejected from the SUV. They do notice the obvious blood on the drivers side and on the ground just outside the drivers side door they find Y/N's weapon and credentials. They come to the conclusion that she was taken by the unsub but for what the dont know.

Y/N wakes up with a pounding in her head and soreness all over. When she opens her eyes the first thing she notices is that she is in a cage and she tries to recall what happened. She remembers the headlights heading straight at them, she prays JJ is alright. As the begins to look around she notices the lights, she can see but it's dim. As everything comes into focus she notices the girls. The missing girls, 4 in total in individual cages on either side of her. Y/N clears her throat, "are you all okay?" The girls nod hesitantly."Why does he want you all here?" No one wants to answer her and they are avoiding eye contact. Y/N takes a deep breath, "I know it's difficult, but I need to know so I can help us all get out of here." One girl finally speaks up, "He elotrocutes us until we beg him to touch us." Sexual Sadist of course.

Back at the precinct the team is trying to figure out where the unsub would having taken Y/N and keep Reid focused on finding you instead of worrying. Looking at all the photos they failed to realize earlier that although not a preteen Y/N fit the same description of the missing girls. (Long dark brown hair, blue eyes, she is short and petite.) Reid is working on a geographic profile, but being in a rural area it can only help so much. The tension in the air is thick and everyone is on edge. Reid is mumbling to himself, " How could he have let this happen? Why didn't he go with you instead of JJ?" Hotch can see Reid breaking under the pressure and goes over to reassure him, " We're going to find her, but you need to be ontop of your game to do so."

Reid rubbing the back of his neck in exhaustion, "I just need her back."

With everyone now working together to narrow down the area, Reid is met with a memory from years past when Y/N first joined the BAU. (While working on a previous abduction case Y/N had mentioned if anyone in the team was to ever go missing she was the best option. Reid did not like when she said it, the thought of her missing made him sick to his stomach. Until she explained that because her dad was a retired FBI agent he was paranoid when she was young and had a GPS chip implanted into a ring she is never without, sitting on her right forefinger.) At the time Reid still hated the thought but now he knows how to find you. He calls Garcia to get your location and the team is on there way to you.

Y/N is trying to keep the girls calm letting them know help will be on there way soon. She has faith Reid will remember,sooner than later she hopes. It has been relatively quiet but Y/N hears footsteps approaching. As the unsub approaches he goes to grab one of the girls out of the cage. This prompts Y/N to jump into action immediately antagonizing the man. "So this is how weak you are?" She sneers, "Preying on young girls because a grown woman would never want you, would never give into you?" Y/N comments send the man into a rage. "Shut up you stupid Bitch, you'll get what's coming to you soon enough. Y/N knows that now that she has his attention she needs to keep it. "As if I could ever be afraid of you, you're pathetic, bet you can't even get it up!" Goal achieved, the man is moving away from the girl and over the front of the cage Y/N is in. "I'll show you just what I'm capable of!" He yells, before pushing a button causing an electric current to run through the cage incapacitating Y/N. While she in unable to move the unsub ties her hands together and lifts her onto a hook dangling from the ceiling. Lastly he ties her feet together and fastening the tie to the floor. While in her suspended state the unsub now takes the time to mock her. "Not so mouthy now. Are you ready to comply?" Y/N huffy, "is that the best you got? I've heard worse from 12 year old kids playing video games." The man now visibly upset pulls out a rod rigged to administer electric shocks. He takes a swing and when it connects Y/N shouts in pain. "How was that?",the man sneers " Do you want me to end your suffering? All you have to do is beg?" Y/N with her chest heaving, let's out a laugh " Seriously, like I said before is this your best? You're weak, pathetic, repulsive. I wouldn't beg you to kill me, let alone to lay a filthy finger on me." This earns her another wack as she continues to insult and demean him. And the process goes on.

The team arrives at the unsub's home and begins breaking down doors and searching. Hotch and Reid reach the unsub first. Reids eyes immediately going to Y/N's limp body dangling, as Hotch places the unsub under arrest. Reid runs over to pull her down but she is unresponsive and doesn't appear to be breathing. Reid is performing chest compressions while calling for a medic. After successfully finding a pulse the medics get her on a gurney and entire the ambulance. Reid insisting on riding along.

A few hours later the entire team minus JJ, unconscious but stable in her own room, are waiting to here from the Doctor. When the Dr. walks in he looks at both Hotch and Reid suggesting that since Hotch is the Unit Chief and Reid and Y/N are married they speak privately. Reid assures the Dr. that they all all family and its ok to speak freely in front of them. "She is currently stable, we needed to revive her twice. She has bruising on her arms, chest, and abdomen from the air bag. Also marks from the electric rod used. Her right forearm has some fractures and many cuts that will heal over time." The Dr pauses and looks to Reid with a questioning look. "Are you sure its ok to discuss everything here?" When Reid nods, the Dr ask if Y/N or himself was aware that she was pregnant. Reids says that he was unaware and questions the Dr's referring to her as having been pregnant but not still. The Dr explains that because of the impact of the air bag and the torture, Y/N had miscarried. Reid put that to the back of his mind for now, he'll deal with it later. Reid asks when can they see Y/N. This leads the Dr into explaining that although she is stable she in unresponsive and that at this time they don't know if or when she would wake up. This news causes me tension to run high, as if all the air had been sucked from their lungs. The Dr says for now only one person can go in. They all of course know it will be Reid and tell him they'll be back in the morning to check in.

After JJ regained consciousness and Y/N still unresponsive, the team returned home minus Reid and Y/N who was transferred to James Madison Hospital to be closer to home. Reid barely left her beside at the Hospital only going home to shower and change and only if another team member stayed with her. He didn't want her to be alone in case she woke up. A week and a half after the initial incident the entire team comes to visit. They're trying to keep Reid's hopes up. It's quiet everyone still proccessing what happened themselves. Reid breaks the silence with an almost sob, "I don't know what I'm going to do without her." His statement confuses everyone, not sure if there was more news he hadn't shared, until he continues. "If she never wakes up, what am I going to do?" Morgan comes over the rest a reassuring hand on Reid's shoulder, "She's a fighter, she never gives up. Not on anyone. So don't give up on her. She'll pull through."

2 weeks after the initial incident the team is just getting back into town from a case. Spencer stayed behind offering support over the phone but still not leaving the hospital. The team shows up obviously exhausted just getting back from a case and short two people. They come in and find some seats. Reid is sitting next to Y/N with his hand wrapped around hers. And they begin to tell there favorite stories about Y/N. After the rest of the team tells there stories they all looks at Spencer expectedly. He has too many great stories but his favorite is the day they met. Many years before when Reid was in the FBI academy on sunny Saturday afternoon, here he was sitting in a bookstore in Georgetown when a beautiful girl approached him. She looked nervous before she spoke and asked if she could ask a favor of him. Sweet Spencer Reid of course he would want to help. There was a book she had been searching for and had asked the employees so many times earlier when she couldn't find it she didn't want to bother them again. She had eventually found the book not only in the wrong section but too high up for her to reach. Spencer happily grabbed the book from the high shelf to hand to her. Her face light up like a Christmas tree to his kind gesture and she offered to buy him coffee to repay him for the good dead. He declined saying it wasn't necessary for her to repay him but he would like to get coffee with her. As he is telling the story it was the first time in 2 weeks the team had seen him smile. It uplifted all of their spirits. Now making jokes, laughing and crying from laughing so hard. Amongst the commotion, none of them realized Y/N eyes were open and she was now looking around confused. It wasn't until she spoke that it became dead silent, "I'm not dead right? The afterlife cannot be this loud?" More of a comment than a question this caused everyone other than Reid to break out in more laughter. Reid with tears in his eyes was so overcome with joy he couldn't do anything except embrace her. "I thought I was going to lose you." He whispered in her ear. Y/N chuckled and she ran a hand through his hair, " Lose me? And where would I go without you."

The last time I did something like this was 4(?) years ago, but this is just so funny! They’re attending ZIP! from their own houses. Any weirdness is purely on my grasp of what they’re saying. I don’t own the video btw.

Masu pretends to press a button and connect the call: Ah, we’re connected! Good morning everyone!

Everyone wave and say good morning.

Masu: Amazing. This is quite the sight! Ah but I feel that there are people present who are giving out this sense of “who’s this?!” First there’s Naoki.

Kenjiro: Eh? Naoki? Why?

Masu: Probably his hairstyle?

Kenjiro: Recently he’s going for this singed Naoki style.

Naoki: Please allow me to burn you.

Masu: I also feel that Imaichi’s image is a little different?

Ryuji: Oh really?

Naoto: He feels fresher.

Kenjiro: Yeah that’s right. There isn’t that prickly feeling

Someone says he feels softer (more approachable)

Ryuji: I am at home after all.

Voice in the backgroud: The members who are showing a different side of themselves because they are at home.

Masu: There’s something I’m a bit curious about. Are the wallpapers of the homes of the members of Sandaime J soul brothers all matching brick wall patterns?

Iwata: It’s just coincidence that Naoto and I have brick wallpapers:

Masu: You’re not living together, are you?

Kenjiro laughs out loud.

Iwata, Naoto: No.

Masu: And Elly’s house is full of Marilyn Monroe (actually you only see two portraits XD)

Elly: I really like Marilyn Monroe.

Masu: How many Marilyns do you have?

Elly: All in all, 4 Marilyns.

Background voice: And then we go to this request

Masu: Since this a precious opportunity where you’re doing an interview from home, if it’s alright with you, we were wondering if you could share a treasured item with us.

Naoto: This thing (as he brings a big box into view), I’m not sure I should call it a treasure. It’s more like a treasure and a bother. Gun-chan told me, “Naoto-san this is your birthday present.” The bag holding it was really really big. I bought it home and it was really heavy and I was wondering what it was. I opened it with a great deal of excitement and it turned out to be a kayak!

Everyone just starts laughing.

Iwata: Isn’t a kayak great!

Naoto: I wanted to ask the guys: do I look like I go kayaking?

Ryuji: No you don’t.

Meanwhile Tosaka claps gleefully.

Iwata: Naoto-san is the kind who likes hills and rivers (Naoto agrees) and I have this image of him going to these places. I had this thought where maybe he would just happen to go to a river in private and think “AH, there’s a kayak loaded in my car, why don’t I bring it out for a run?”

Tosaka: Do you really expect that kind of miracle to happen?

Background voice: Although the conversation doesn’t stop here, we need to move on to the main theme.

Masu: To the members of sandaime J soul brothers, it’s still a bit early, but this year’s November 10th is the 10th anniversary of your debut. Congratulations! (The members thank him) This is a great opportunity so we would like to look back on ZIP! and sandaime’s history from our first meeting.

Background voice: From the precious archive footage of ZIP!, let’s look back on the 10 year history of sandaime J soul brothers. The first one is from June 2011 at their first album release event.

Footage-Naoto: From the bottom of my heart, I’m really happy.

Tosaka: His face was sharp!

Naoto: My eyebrows were so thin!

Background: Then two years later in April 2013 we have an interview. The members who are watching this footage (Elly and Kenjiro were partnered up: cooking demonstration + beatboxing) 7 years later are curious about-

Naoto: At the back, Naoki’s hairstyle was eyecatching.

Elly: Yes! I noticed too!

Ryuji: I noticed the hair.

Kenjiro: It was a refreshing bob cut.

Naoto: It looks like a bob.

Naoki: It was not a bob. It was an Okappa (おかっぱ, google it :D)!

Background voice: They were curious about the long hair. It’s totally different from what it is now. Then we have footage from December in the same year of their first live performance in the ZIP! studio. After that in March of the next year, Sandaime’s first participation in ZIP!’s spring fest. Here the event that left the most impression on the members was the dance collaboration with Announcer Masu. (They did 君の瞳に恋してる~can’t take my eyes off you)

Elly: For Masu-san to have managed to remembered all of that choreography, it was really quite hard.

Masu: Yes, they gave me a week and so I had the time to turn the steps into words and from there I managed to remember.

Footage-Naoto: This has never been heard of before right? This transcription of dance choreography into words.

The clip switched to Elly rolling across the stage while everyone took turns jumping over him.

Ryuji: Masu jumped over Elly.

Masu: Elly told me, “It’s okay if you step on me”, but there was no mirth in his eyes at all so I was really afraid.

Background voice: Then in June 2014 the release of Ryusei whose dance moves became a social phenomenon. After that the star studded Sandaime J soul brothers also appeared on ZIP! several times. How much of the interview do they remember? Let’s find out! The interview we have prepared is from November 2015, where after appearing on the music special “Best artist”, they were asked about a recent “Best scene”

Naoki: So on November 10th we will celebrate our 5th anniversary, and it is coincidentally also my birthday.

Background voice: That’s right. November 10th is an important anniversary for Sandaime J soul brothers: Debut anniversary and Naoki’s birthday! On that day-

Footage-Naoki: Naoto invited me to go eat very casually, when we got there and I opened the door______

Background voice: To give Naoki a suprise, Naoto prepared a surprise. What kind of surprise did he prepare? Everyone remembers, right?

Tosaka: Eh? What was it? I don’t know.

Iwata: What was it?

Masu: Naoki you yourself remember don’t you?

Naoki: No, I forgot.

Naoto: OI! You cold hearted man!

Background voice: And we start off unexpectedly with Naoki himself not remembering what happened, but what of the other members? We asked, just in case.

Elly: Something like Naoto dressed up as a girl waiting for him?

Naoto: My image in Elly’s mind is that?!

Ryuji: Other members were also present?

Kenjiro: Isn’t that it? That’s it right? November 10th to me is a special day. Since it was a birthday, the surprise was all members gathering together right?

Masu: So if Naoki asked you all to gather together for a surprise you will all gather together?

Kenjiro: If we can gather around on that day we will.

Masu: Ah then let’s go to the video showing the correct answer

Footage-Naoki: Naoto invited me to go eat very casually, when we got there and I opened the door and Gun-chan was waiting there (as a surprise)

Kenjiro: Gun-chan?

Elly covers his face and laughs uncontrollably.

Footage-Naoto: My plan was to have all 6 members waiting for him, but after I informed everyone, only Gun-chan turned up.

Footage-Gun: I was also wondering, “What kind of energy should I be using to welcome him?” “Sorry it’s just me?”

Iwata: We’re so bad at gatherings!

Kenjiro: It’s so bad that we were all asked to go but no one went!

Naoto: And you just said, “If you ask us to go we’ll go”! That was such a huge lie.

Masu: Kenjiro-san, what were you doing on that day?

Kenjiro: I really no longer remember.

Masu: Naoki how do you feel?

Naoki: It’s really lonely. I was thinking that I should always maintain a good relationship with Gun-chan.

Iwata: That’s good. That’s good.

Background voice: A fray in a 10 year bond? and then we go to another interview, this is right before their debut, about the pose that Iwata showed the fans.

Footage-Iwata: At the time I was still an amateur who couldn’t tell left from right, and I was standing on the stage without any clue as to what posing meant. and I ended up doing _____ weird pose. (footage-naoto agreed) They’re still laughing about it today.

Background voice: The weird pose that Iwata did when he was still a newbie, does anyone remember?

Kenjiro: This one, yeah

Ryuji: This I know.

Masu: Does everyone remember?

Tosaka: If you cue us, we can all do it at the same time.

Masu: The pose from Iwata’s newbie days, cue!

Masu (laughing loudly): That’s right, Let’s go to the answer video.

Footage-Iwata: It was simply a pose where I held my right wrist with my left hand. They’re still laughing about it today.

Masu: Iwata-san, are they still teasing you about this today?

Iwata: 10 years later today it’s still a joke that can be thrown around, that’s conversely quite alright. At the time I couldn’t quite make my hands calm down, and while thinking that I had to do something, I ended up with this pose where I looked like I was holding an injured wrist.

Background voice: We have the actual footage here. among all the members who had cool poses, there was Iwata: holding his right wrist tightly with his left hand.

Masu: Iwata-san, would you mind showing us that pose a second time?

Iwata: Ah it’s our 10th anniversary so I would like to promote this

Naoto: Promote?

Tosaka: I’d like to see that!

Background voice: This strong bond that Sandaime J soul brothers have built up over a 10 year period, another strong bond that goes without saying is their bond with the fans. Although they were supposed to celebrate this important year together with the fans, they faced extraordinary circumstances. However, the members are already prepared for this

Tosaka: The time when we can’t meetup, whether it’s the fans or the members, the frustration that builds up from wanting to “have fun at a live performance”, that’s a good kind frustration. Of course we all hold these feelings of wanting have a live performance, the build up of these feelings clash and lead to the birth of a tremendous amount of anticipation for both us and the fans.

Naoto: After the lifting of this emergency state and we overcome all this with everyone, we hope to be able to bring you all a lot of fun with the power we have accumulated, the ideas that we have thought up in this period. We are doing all these preparations. So let’s look forward to the day when we meet up in a live performance. We hope to continue to have your support.

Lady in the studio: You could really feel their bond in the interview

Masu: I’m sure the viewers at home also have this feeling, when you’re doing meetings remotely there’s usually a clash where everyone tries to speak, but the sandaime members didn’t face this situation and everything was smooth so I felt this was the result of a 10 year bond.

Kenjiro (laughs): Really? I think you’re praising us a little too much. (Masu: no really!) Looking at the footage from when we debuted, you can only feel a sense of wonder realising that that artist has successfully stood on the stage of a dome tour. The 10th year anniversary is a really special year to the sandaime J soul brothers, although it’s shame that we can’t do any live performances, we will fully utilise this time, arrange meetings. so that when this emergency state is lifted, we can deliver unbelievably fun live performances and entertainment. I have the confidence that we will be able to deliver, so please look forward to that.

Masu: Please work hard on that. ZIP! is also in its 10th year so I hope to continue to have your support.

5e Zephyr, the Hellion build (XCOM: Chimera Squad)

Would you believe me if I said that I had this build on the backburner for nearly half a year? Like honest to god I said I’d “maybe” make XCOM builds over a year ago and I beat Chimera Squad around last November. (Yeah I kinda put the game on the backburner for 3 months before finishing it.)

With that being said Zephyr was easily one of my most valuable units, and she pretty much plays like the typical Monk. So naturally I jumped at the chance to make her!

GOALS

Crippling Blow - Punching criminals is all well-and-good but if you’re fighting outworlders with psionics and poison glands you need something to get the upper hand.

Momentum - “Move fast or die slow.” Play around cover if you want to stick around.

Crowd Control - When the mobs get too rowdy get ready to run in and knock them all down.

RACE

Zephyr was literally made for war which means holy crap we actually get to use Custom Lineage to make a Hybrid! You are a Medium sized creature with a +2 in Dexterity to start. You can pick either Variable Trait as either Darkvision or a Skill Proficiency (ideally Perception to see incoming hostiles) will be useful. You can also get a Language of your choice so I’d pick whatever you fancy, though perhaps going for something more alien would work well.

Of course you get a Feat at level 1 when using a Custom Lineage and ADVENT training makes you a bit of a Martial Adept. You get a d6 Combat Superiority die to use on one of two Maneuvers: Disarming Attack can be good to disable an opponent’s weapon (especially if your DM lets you kick it away after disarming them) and Parry will let you, well, parry! While you might not reduce the damage completely like in Chimera Squad you can still absorb some close-ranged blows!

ABILITY SCORES

15; DEXTERITY - Can’t get shot if you outrun the bullets.

14; WISDOM - Used for a variety of things, notably AC.

13; CONSTITUTION - Zephyr isn’t the biggest member of Chimera Squad but giving her some body armor is usually a good call.

12; STRENGTH - It’s not that she’s weak; we can just use DEX instead of STR.

10; INTELLIGENCE - ADVENT probably teaches military strategy but history is already formed by the victors.

8; CHARISMA - Zephyr is a rather blunt edge. ADVENT training doesn’t include comedy class.

BACKGROUND

War... war never changes, and you were literally made to fight. You are a Soldier by the purest definition of the word. You get proficiency in Athletics as well as Intimidation, Land Vehicles (someone has to drive!), and a Gaming Set of your choice (chess helps you learn military strategy so perhaps ADVENT training included Dragonchess training.)

Your feature Military Rank puts you in the ranks of Chimera Squad! Members of the City 13 PD recognize your rank, and you can get supplied with standard government-funded equipment as needed.

THE BUILD

LEVEL 1 - MONK 1

Put bluntly punching is more important for this build! First level Monks get proficiency with two skills from the Monk list: Acrobatics is good for dodging and Stealth is good for the breaching phase. You also get proficiency in a tool of your choice: Grey Phoenix will never be ready for your Calligraphy Tools! You’re welcome Tulok!

As a Monk you get Unarmored Defense equal to your Dexterity plus your Wisdom, even if Zephyr does wear body armor in XCOM. But more importantly you get Martial Arts! You can use DEX to punch, your punches do a d4, and after attacking you can punch as a Bonus Action!

LEVEL 2 - MONK 2

Second level Monks get Ki for a variety of military tactics. Flurry of Blows allows you to make two Unarmed Strikes with your Bonus Action instead of one, Patient Defense lets you Hunker Down and Dodge as a Bonus Action, lowering the enemy’s chance to hit (though this is XCOM so remember that 5% chance to hit can still hit), and Step of the Wind lets you Dash or Disengage as a Bonus Action to get up close and personal.

You also get Unarmored Defense, increasing your movement speed by 10 to help you dive for cover after attacking. And because Tasha’s wants to let Monks use weapons you get Dedicated Weapon, allowing you to turn any weapon you’re proficient in into a Monk weapon! (As long as it isn’t Heavy or Special.)

LEVEL 3 - MONK 3

3rd level Monks get to choose their Monastic Tradition and to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee Drunken Master works remarkably well. You get Bonus Proficiencies with both Performance and Brewer’s Supplies, but more importantly you get access to Drunken Technique. Whenever you use Flurry of Blows your movement speed increases by 10 feet and you gain the benefits of the Disengage action, basically giving you the Mobile feat that works whenever you use Flurry of Blows.

Additionally Deflect Missiles will let you Parry bullets! If you’re targeted with a ranged attack you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by a d10 plus your Monk level. If the damage is reduced to 0 you can catch the bullet, and then use a Ki point to throw it back!

You also get Ki-Fueled Attack but it literally doesn’t matter since you don’t have any abilities which use Ki that aren’t attacks.

LEVEL 4 - MONK 4

4th level Monks get an Ability Score Improvement: increase your Constitution by 1 for a little more sturdiness and your Dexterity by 1 to punch a little harder.

Additionally you get Slow Fall to safely hop down off tall ledges, and because Tasha’s didn’t think Monks had enough features you get Quickened Healing, letting you spend 2 Ki points to heal yourself for a roll of your Martial Arts die plus your proficiency bonus. Much like Second Wind you can use this before Short Resting if you have spare Ki for faster recovery after combat.

LEVEL 5 - MONK 5

5th level Monks get an Extra Attack, meaning you can punch twice with your action plus an additional time with your Bonus Action, or an additional two times with Flurry of Blows. Which is good because your Martial Arts die now increases to a d6, making your fists just a little more deadly.

But more importantly you can inflict a truly crippling blow thanks to Stunning Strike, which forces a Constitution save on the enemy or stun them, making them easy pickings for the rest of the squad!

Tasha’s also gave you some Holotargeting thanks to Focused Aim, allowing you to increase your hit chance with Ki, just to make sure none of your blows bounce off their armor.

LEVEL 6 - MONK 6

6th level Monks can make Vital Strikes thanks to Ki-Empowered Strikes. You get to ignore magical resistance and immunity now!

Additionally you get some more boosts to your mobility with Tipsy Sway, letting you Leap to Your Feet when prone with only 5 feet of movement and Redirect Attacks that miss with a Ki point so they hit another enemy in melee! “Should’ve kept your distance!”

And to top off your mobility your Unarmored Movement increases by 5 feet, equaling 15 extra feet of movement speed or 45 feet total.

LEVEL 7 - FIGHTER 1

ADVENT training teaches you to do more than just run and punch. First level Fighters get their choice of a Fighting Style and seeing as we aren’t using Knives and Guns we may as well grab Superior Technique for more Maneuver die! You can learn another Maneuver like Distracting Strike to lower a foe’s defenses for your allies. And you get another d6 per Short Rest to use on Maneuvers!

If you aren’t going to hit level 11 as Monk (total build level 14) then Unarmed Fighting is also a good choice to increase your damage output.

You can also get some help from Terminal for a Second Wind, healing for a d10 plus your Fighter level.

LEVEL 8 - FIGHTER 2

Second level Fighters get Action Surge, for another action to do either a little bit more movement or a bit more punching. Yes this does mean that if you want you can punch a total of 6 times in a turn!

LEVEL 9 - FIGHTER 3

Third level Fighters get to choose their Martial Archetype and a Battle Master can inflict all sorts of Crippling Blows! Firstly you are a Student of War, granting you proficiency with another Artisan’s Tool of your choice. Maybe pick up some Woodcarver’s Tools to do something while out in the unpopulated areas.

But of course the main appeal of being a Battle Master is the Combat Superiority. You get four d8 Superiority die (on top of your two d6 die) to use on your Maneuvers. You already have several Maneuvers but how about a few more? Trip Attack is like Stunning Strike but it forces a Strength save to knock the enemy over, making them easy to hit in melee (or with a shotgun) but harder to hit at range. Goading Attack will keep foes off your friends and force them to focus you instead. And Grappling Strike will let you try to root an enemy in place.

LEVEL 10 - MONK 7

We got all the Maneuvers we could want and more so now it’s time for more Monk training to master our fists. 7th level Monks get Evasion to avoid explosions (and other things that force DEX saves) as well as Stillness of Mind to avoid panicking (or being charmed.)

LEVEL 11 - MONK 8

8th level Monks get another Ability Score Improvement: better max out that Dexterity to make sure that 99% chance to hit does actually hit.

LEVEL 12 - MONK 9

9th level Monks can defy the laws of physics with SCIENCE! Unarmored Movement Improvement lets you run across walls and liquids, as long as you end somewhere solid when you’re done. Enemy on high ground? Just run up the wall!

LEVEL 13 - MONK 10

10th level Monks get Purity of Body, making them immune to Earthbound diseases and Viper poison. Additionally you get 5 more feet of Unarmored Movement, meaning that you can now move 50 feet in a turn!

LEVEL 14 - MONK 11

11th level Monks have what the game calls Drunkard’s Luck, but I’d personally call Teamwork! If you make a roll with Disadvantage you can use 2 Ki points for some teamwork, negating the Disadvantage!

Your Martials Arts die also increases to a d8, so you can shake off the stress before going in and apprehending the target!

LEVEL 15 - MONK 12

12th level Monks get another Ability Score Increase. While we’ve got plenty of ways to be effective without Wisdom intuition is still good to not get hit. So increase your Wisdom by 2.

LEVEL 16 - MONK 13

City 13 PD are expected to be able to communicate with any species, and Chimera Squad is no exception. 13th level Monks get Tongue of the Sun and Moon, so anyone can understand what you’re saying and you can understand whatever they’re saying.

LEVEL 17 - MONK 14

Sick of dealing with things more dangerous than guns? Well Diamond Soul will give you proficiency with all saving throws! And your Unarmored Movement increases to 55 feet total!

LEVEL 18 - MONK 15

15th level Monks can live life with the game on pause thanks to Timeless Body. You can’t be aged by magic, though you will still die of old age. You also don’t need to eat, which is certainly helpful.

LEVEL 19 - MONK 16

16th level Monks get their last Ability Score Improvement for the build. I’ll leave this up to you: more Wisdom would mean more AC and more deadly Stunning Strikes, but the Mobile feat would allow you to save your Ki instead of using Flurry of Blows to move around.

LEVEL 20 - MONK 17

17th level Monks can finally lay down the Crowd Control thanks to Intoxicated Frenzy! When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can make up to 3 additional attacks with it, provided that each Flurry of Blows attack targets a different creature this turn. This means that you can target a total of 5 enemies with Flurry of Blows, not to mention the two punches you get from your regular action! And speaking of punches your Martial Arts die is now a d10, letting you really thin the herd!

FINAL BUILD

PROS

Reaper - Ever punched 9 times in one turn? Would you like to? Intoxicated Frenzy and Action Surge can allow you to really thin the herd.

Lockdown - You’ve also got plenty of ways to keep said herd from getting close with 6 total Combat Superiority die to spend on all sorts of Maneuvers.

Fearless Advance - You’re not exactly a frontliner but you can afford to take a few hits, with good health, strong AC, and very high saving throws thanks to Diamond Soul.

CONS

Berserker - Running fast with your fists out is great and all, but sometimes enemies will be in places you simply can’t get to. When that happens all you can really do is keep to cover.

Adder - Good ol’ limited resources. Even if you have plenty of Ki as well as a remarkable amount of Combat Superiority die they will still run out. Remember to take breaks between breaches.

Praetorian - Rules as written there’s few ways to boost your damage output or your armor. Bracers of Defense or an Insignia of Claws can definitely help but much like in Chimera Squad you might be left out as the party gets upgraded.

But if the streets get too full there isn’t anyone better to call. ADVENT wanted you to be the perfect soldier; it really sucks for them that you ended up fighting for the good guys! Keep the peace and stop the baddies from resisting arrest. Don’t worry about police brutality; outworld physiology is quite good at repairing broken bones.
